Proton eMas 7 PHEV launches as Malaysia's cheapest plug-in hybrid, from RM105,800
This is Proton's fourth launch in just 14 weeks — following October's eMas 5, November's Saga MC3 and January's X70 MC3 — and the first eMas model with an engine and an exhaust pipe: the eMas 7 PHEV has officially launched in Malaysia. The three variants are priced at RM109,800 for the Prime, RM123,800 for the Premium and RM129,800 for the Premium Plus (on-the-road without insurance), with the first 5,000 customers getting a RM4,000 early-bird rebate that brings the effective prices down to RM105,800, RM119,800 and RM125,800 — officially snatching the title of Malaysia's cheapest plug-in hybrid from the RM130,000 Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV. Buyers also get five years of free 2GB monthly data (worth RM1,000), a free 7kW home charger (worth RM1,500) and eMas Care insurance perks, together worth up to RM7,500.
The Prime and Premium use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated BHE15-DFN four-cylinder engine (99 PS/125 Nm) paired with a 218 PS/262 Nm front motor for a combined 262 PS and 262 Nm, driving the front wheels; both share an 18.4 kWh CATL LFP battery giving 83 km of WLTP EV range and 943 km combined range, with DC fast charging up to 30 kW (30-80% in under 20 minutes) and a 0-100 km/h time of 8 seconds. The range-topping Premium Plus swaps in a 29.8 kWh Geely Aegis short-blade LFP battery, lifting EV range to 146 km and combined range to 996 km, with faster 60 kW DC charging (30-80% in under 16 minutes) and a slightly quicker 8.2-second sprint — notably, Malaysia is the only global market to get the larger battery from the 2026-model-year Galaxy Starship 7. Dimensions are 4,740 x 1,940 x 1,685 mm on a 2,755 mm wheelbase, respectively 125 mm longer, 39 mm wider and 15 mm taller than the eMas 7 EV. The cabin runs Flyme OS (with Bahasa Melayu support), a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and a 2.5K 15.4-inch touchscreen, with the Premium and above adding a 13.8-inch head-up display, a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system (including headrest speakers) and seven airbags (including a centre airbag); drive modes are Pure (EV-only), Hybrid and Power. Warranty covers six years unlimited-mileage on the vehicle, plus eight years/160,000 km on the high-voltage battery and components.
Following the launch of the Box back in November 2024, Dongfeng has introduced its second model in Malaysia, the 007 — known as the eπ (pronounced "yipai") 007 in China, directly targeting the BYD Seal and undercutting it on price. As the first fully imported (CBU) EV to launch after Malaysia's discontinuation of tax exemptions for such vehicles, the 007 comes in slightly pricier: RM169,888 for the long-range rear-wheel-drive Premium and RM195,888 for the top-spec dual-motor all-wheel-drive Prime (both including a six-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty and an eight-year unlimited-mileage warranty on the battery and drive motor). An RM8,888 launch rebate brings the effective prices down to RM161,000 (Premium) and RM187,000 (Prime) — RM10,800 and RM4,800 cheaper than the equivalent BYD Seal variants. Buyers also receive a complimentary ABB wallbox charger.
The 007 has been rebadged by Nissan as the N7 for export markets in China. Dimensions are 4,880 x 1,895 x 1,476 mm on a 2,915 mm wheelbase — 80 mm longer, 20 mm wider and 16 mm taller than the BYD Seal. The Premium runs a single rear motor making 272 PS and 310 Nm, doing 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds; paired with a 73.48 kWh LFP battery, it's rated at 650 km CLTC, or roughly 530 km WLTP. The Prime adds a front motor, doubling combined output to 544 PS and 620 Nm for a 3.9-second sprint, though range drops to 565 km CLTC (roughly 463 km WLTP) as a result. Charging supports up to 200 kW DC (30-80% in 16 minutes), though AC charging is limited to 6.6 kW, with V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability included. Styling follows familiar Chinese EV sedan cues — a low nose, six-window glasshouse, frameless windows and flush pop-out door handles; wheels are 18-inch on the Premium and 19-inch ten-spoke dual-tone on the Prime, paired with red brake calliper caps. The cabin gets an 8.8-inch instrument display and 15.6-inch touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), plus a 19-speaker Wanos surround sound system; safety includes a full driver-assist suite (AEB, adaptive cruise, lane keeping, blind spot monitoring and more), with the Prime adding a driver monitoring system. Boot space is 452 litres, plus a modest front trunk.
Following its preview last month, the Dongfeng Vigo electric SUV has officially launched in Malaysia, announced the same day as the Dongfeng 007. Priced at RM108,888 on-the-road without insurance, the Vigo shares the same RM8,888 launch rebate as the 007, bringing the effective price down to RM100,000. The Vigo is Malaysia's version of the "Nammi 06," measuring 4,306 x 1,868 x 1,654 mm on a 2,715 mm wheelbase — 4 mm longer, 38 mm narrower and 30 mm taller than the BYD Atto 2. A single variant is offered at launch, with a front-mounted permanent synchronous motor making 161 hp and 230 Nm, doing 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds.
The battery is a 51.87 kWh LFP unit rated at 471 km CLTC, translating to roughly 330-380 km WLTP. Charging is via a CCS2 connector supporting up to 167 kW DC, with 6.6 kW AC charging via Type 2 (about nine hours for a full home charge), plus V2L (vehicle-to-load) output up to 3.3 kW. The chassis uses MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam at the rear, with disc brakes on all four wheels, riding on 18-inch alloys with 215/55R18 tyres. Exterior features include inverted L-shaped projector LED headlights and electronically released flush door handles; the rear gets a split tailgate arrangement (similar to the BMW X5 and Range Rover), opening to a 500-litre boot. Inside is a light grey and black vegan-leather cabin with six-way power-adjustable front seats (driver's seat adds memory and ventilation), wireless charging, music-synced ambient lighting and PM2.5-filtered automatic air-conditioning; it features an 8.8-inch driver display and a 12.8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Safety includes Level 2 ADAS with autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. Warranty covers six years unlimited-mileage on the vehicle plus eight years unlimited-mileage on the battery. Six exterior colours are offered: Arctic White, Titanium Silver, Sandstone Beige, Mosswood Green, Canyon Orange and Cyber Black. The brand is represented in Malaysia by Volt Auto, partnered with Pekema subsidiary Central Auto Distributors Berhad (CADB), which is exploring local assembly (CKD) options.
Teased just earlier this week, the Leapmotor C10 has been overhauled and officially rebadged as the C10 Plus, bringing the far-reaching mechanical upgrade introduced in China last year to Malaysia — albeit with a significant price increase to match. Official pricing is RM148,000, RM23,000 more than the discontinued outgoing model (likely a consequence of Malaysia ending tax exemptions for CBU EVs); a RM9,000 rebate brings this down to RM139,000, narrowing the gap over the old car to RM14,000, with an additional RM4,000 insurance subsidy for early-bird buyers bringing total savings to RM13,000. Warranty coverage remains at six years/150,000 km on the vehicle, plus eight years/160,000 km on the battery. The 2025 model will continue to be sold as a lower-priced variant.
Performance gains are substantial: the C10 retains its single rear-motor layout, but output jumps from 218 PS/315 Nm to 299 PS (220 kW) and 360 Nm, cutting the 0-100 km/h sprint from 7.5 to 6.2 seconds, with top speed rising 20 km/h to 190 km/h. The battery grows in tandem from 69.9 kWh to 81.9 kWh LFP, and combined with improved energy efficiency (15.1 kWh/100 km), WLTP range climbs 86 km to 510 km. Thanks to a switch to an 800-volt architecture, DC fast charging power jumps from a modest 84 kW to a far more respectable 180 kW — even with the larger battery, 30-80% charging time drops eight minutes to 22 minutes; AC charging remains unchanged at 11 kW. Beyond performance and range, there are no notable changes to design or equipment (still no Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or powered door handles); a new Night Edition adds RM8,000 (RM147,000 after rebate), with a two-tone paint finish and black roof, a more aggressive chin splitter, deeper side skirts and a sportier rear diffuser kit, plus the standard 20-inch "Trident" wheels finished in matte black.
Following its debut preview at the ACE 2025 motor show last November, the Volkswagen Golf Mk8.5 R-Line has officially launched in Malaysia, officially priced at RM185,990 without insurance; the first 50 customers to book get an RM6,000 discount, bringing the effective price to RM179,990, which already includes the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) — covering five years of free maintenance, a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and five years of roadside assistance. Buyers who don't need the VAP package can also opt out, saving a further RM10,000, though the warranty then reverts to the standard two years.
Dimensions are 4,289 mm long, 1,799 mm wide and 1,483 mm tall on a 2,631 mm wheelbase, with maximum boot capacity reaching 1,237 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Power comes from a 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid turbo engine making 150 PS and 250 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dry-clutch DSG dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels, doing 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and equipped with an XDS electronic differential lock. Exterior kit includes standard IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps and IQ.Light 3D LED tail-light clusters, riding on new Coventry-design alloy wheels with 225/45R17 tyres. Inside are R-Line-specific fabric and ArtVelours microfleece seats, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with GPS navigation and a seven-speaker system, plus a 10-inch high-resolution Digital Cockpit Pro digital instrument display and wireless charging. Safety includes seven airbags and the full IQ.Drive suite — rear traffic alert, lane and emergency assist, side assist, travel assist, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control — plus two rear ISOFIX child-seat anchor points. Both this R-Line and the GTI launched alongside it are locally assembled (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang.

Following the debut of the hybrid GR Sport variant at the KLIMS motor show in late 2024, UMW Toyota Motor has given the 2026 model-year Corolla Cross HEV GR Sport small exterior and interior updates, with pricing unchanged at RM148,800 on-the-road without insurance. The update follows the same kit first introduced in Taiwan in March 2025, now finally reaching the Malaysian market.
The most obvious exterior change is the grille: the "wings" that previously flanked the Toyota emblem have been removed, and the entire honeycomb insert is now a single unified piece, with a simplified surround — the section that previously connected to the headlamp cluster is now body-coloured rather than black, giving the grille a "floating" appearance. A GR logo has been added to the grille itself (previously only found on the sides and rear). Down below, the front skid plate loses its three-bar design, while the rear skid plate is similarly simplified into a cleaner "vented" look, and the tailgate's "Corolla Cross" script switches from chrome to black. UMWT says the black roof is now standard across all three colour choices — Platinum White Pearl, Dark Turquoise and Red Mica Metallic. Inside, the red stitching previously limited to the steering wheel, gear boot and seats now extends to the dashboard and door cards for a more cohesive look; the seats gain a central "spine" design on the lower back section, full-colour GR logos are embroidered on the headrests, a GR logo now appears on the steering wheel's lower spoke (previously blank), and the key fob script switches from "Corolla Cross" to the GR logo. Power is unchanged, with a 1.8-litre 2ZR-FXE Atkinson-cycle naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine making 98 PS and 142 Nm, paired with a 72 PS/163 Nm electric motor for a combined system output of 122 PS, driving the front wheels through a hybrid-specific E-CVT; the GR Sport sits above two lower variants, the 1.8V and 1.8 HEV.
Following the opening of order books last week, Proton has officially launched the facelifted S70 MC1, with the line-up unchanged from its November 2023 debut: Executive, Premium, Flagship and Flagship X. Early-bird pricing (including a RM5,000 rebate) is RM68,800, RM74,800, RM84,800 and RM89,800 respectively — effectively matching the pre-facelift standard prices of RM73,800, RM79,800, RM89,800 and RM94,800. Warranty covers five years unlimited-mileage on the vehicle, plus six free labour services and a five-year, 2GB-per-month in-car data package.
The headline change is under the bonnet: the previous GEP3 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine is retired in favour of the BHE15-EFZ 1.5-litre i-GT turbo direct-injection four-cylinder shared with the updated X50 and X70 MC3, featuring a part-time Miller cycle, DVVT variable valve timing and an electric water pump, producing 181 PS (at 5,500 rpm) and 290 Nm (between 2,000-3,500 rpm) — a substantial 31 PS/64 Nm jump over the old engine. The gearbox remains a seven-speed wet dual-clutch, now retuned for smoother shifts, cutting the 0-100 km/h time from 9.6 to 7.5 seconds while claimed fuel consumption actually improves 8.1% to 5.7 L/100 km (17.5 km/L). Drive modes remain Eco, Comfort and Sport, without the adaptive mode found on the updated X50. Exterior changes are minor, largely carried over from the facelifted 2025 Geely Emgrand: redesigned headlamps (dropping the flashy start-up light sequence), turn signals switching to standalone bulb units (previously integrated into the daytime running lights), and high beams now integrated into the main projector unit. Tyres switch uniformly to GitiComfort F22 across the range (replacing the previous Kumho Ecowing ES31). The Flagship X gains a black bodykit with grille trim, a more aggressive diffuser-style rear skirt and a boot lid lip spoiler with red accents, available only on the black and white colour options. The cabin is largely unchanged, save for the Flagship X's headliner switching to black (the rest of the range stays beige); the Executive and Premium retain analogue instrument dials and don't get wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (limited to Flagship and above, and the 8-inch screen doesn't support it). The Flagship steps up to 17-inch wheels (205/50 tyres), keeps its 10.25-inch digital instrument display and 12.3-inch touchscreen, and adds wireless phone charging, a 360-degree HD camera and a powered driver's seat — though paddle shifters remain absent across the entire range.
The second-generation Peugeot 3008 has been on sale in Malaysia since 2017, with a facelift arriving in 2021. Despite the car now being nine years old — and a third generation having already been revealed back in 2023 — Stellantis Malaysia has opted to keep the model on sale, positioning it as a stopgap ahead of a new range of ASEAN-specific Peugeots. Official pricing technically stays unchanged at RM169,388, but a RM31,388 rebate brings the effective price down to RM138,000; warranty remains at seven years/200,000 km (three years factory plus four years extended).
The car itself is essentially unchanged since 2021, with this update focused mainly on branding: it gets Peugeot's new shield logo on the grille, the steering wheel airbag boss, and even the 12.3-inch i-Cockpit digital instrument display, while the "Peugeot" script on the tailgate switches to the brand's newer, more angular corporate font (the "3008" badge is updated to match). Interestingly, the metal side sill scuff plates still carry the old font. Wheels are also new, now 18-inch two-tone turbine-style alloys borrowed from the 408 Premium. Everything else carries over, including "claw" LED daytime running light headlamps, "triple claw" LED tail lights, keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, six-way power-adjustable front seats, steering-wheel paddle shifters, a panoramic sunroof, a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker system, a reverse camera and a hands-free powered tailgate. Safety includes six airbags, stability control, hill descent control and basic driver-assist features such as blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and driver attention monitoring — however, despite having a windscreen-mounted camera, the car still lacks autonomous emergency braking (AEB), a notable gap at this price point. Mechanically nothing changes, with the brand's long-serving 1.6-litre THP turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 165 PS (at 6,000 rpm) and 240 Nm (at 1,400 rpm), paired with a six-speed Aisin automatic driving the front wheels, plus an uprated Advanced Grip Control traction system offering a degree of light off-road capability. While the brand's next-generation 3008 has already been spotted testing in Malaysia — and was even confirmed for local launch at one point — Stellantis ASEAN boss Isaac Yeo has said the new-generation Peugeots are too costly for the Malaysian market to compete against value-driven Chinese brands, meaning this rebadging of the outgoing model effectively signals that the new car won't be arriving here anytime soon.

UMW Toyota Motor has introduced a hybrid powertrain for the XU80-generation Harrier, replacing the previous 2.0-litre petrol version and making the 2.5 HEV the sole Harrier variant on sale in Malaysia, priced at RM289,000 without insurance. This marks an increase over the 2022-updated 2.0-litre models, which were priced at RM274,000 (Luxury) and RM277,000 (Luxury SE) — a jump of roughly RM12,000 to RM15,000 with the switch to hybrid power.
At the heart of the update is Toyota's fourth-generation hybrid system, pairing an A25A-FXS 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine (178 PS/221 Nm) with a 120 PS/202 Nm electric motor for a combined 217 PS, driving the front wheels through an eCVT. Suspension carries over as MacPherson struts up front and double-wishbone at the rear, on 18-inch alloys with 225/60R18 tyres. The cabin gets an 8-inch touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.5-inch head-up display, a six-speaker system, and dual-zone climate control with rear vents. Safety includes the full Toyota Safety Sense suite and seven airbags, backed by a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty plus an eight-year unlimited-mileage hybrid system warranty covering the battery, inverter and power management ECU.
Following a preview last December, the sixth-generation (C28) Nissan Serena has officially launched in Malaysia, with Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) offering five variants priced from RM154,800 to RM179,800. This marks the brand's first locally assembled (CKD) e-Power model, built in Serendah, Selangor — the Nissan Kicks, which shares the same hybrid system, remains imported from Thailand.
The powertrain represents the biggest shift from the outgoing C27 generation: the new model uses an HR14DDe 1.4-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine (98 PS/123 Nm) purely as a generator for the 1.77 kWh lithium-ion battery, rather than driving the wheels directly. Actual propulsion comes from a 163 PS/315 Nm electric motor, delivering an EV-like driving feel. Dimensions are 4,765 mm long, 1,715 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall on a 2,870 mm wheelbase. The chassis has been retuned, with a 20% stiffer stabiliser bar and 50% improved steering friction control and rigidity, cutting steering corrections by 23% versus the outgoing model to reduce motion sickness. The cabin features "zero gravity" seats in a 2+2+3 layout; the top three variants get dual 12.3-inch displays, while the entry two use 7-inch and 9-inch screens. Warranty covers five years/100,000 km on the vehicle, plus eight years/160,000 km on the e-Power components (motor, battery and energy management system).

Honda Malaysia has refreshed the sixth-generation CR-V for 2026, trimming the line-up from four variants to three: the entry petrol S is discontinued, while the former petrol E is replaced by a hybrid, badged e:HEV E, becoming the new entry point alongside the flagship e:HEV RS — the first time Honda has offered two hybrid variants in a single local model range. Post-update pricing is: e:HEV E RM178,200, V AWD (petrol) RM181,900, e:HEV RS RM195,900 (all on-the-road, without insurance). The switch to hybrid raises the E grade by RM8,300 (the previous petrol E was RM169,900), though it remains cheaper than the discontinued S's RM159,900.
The e:HEV E and e:HEV RS share the same i-MMD hybrid system: a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle naturally aspirated engine makes 148 PS/190 Nm on its own, paired with a 184 PS/335 Nm electric motor; the V AWD retains its 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder at 193 PS/243 Nm. Exterior updates add a new Blazing Red Pearl colour, with turbo variants getting standard 18-inch Sparkle Silver wheels and hybrid variants finished in Berlina Black. Across the range, new additions include a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system with built-in Google services (Google Assistant and Google Maps), a Digital Key feature, and remote window-close and power tailgate control via the Honda Connect app. The previous LaneWatch camera system is replaced across the board by Blind Spot Information (BSI) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has introduced a Nightfall Edition for the long-running H247-generation GLA, with prices unchanged: RM258,888 for the GLA200 Nightfall and RM295,888 for the GLA250 4Matic Nightfall (on-the-road without insurance, including a four-year unlimited-mileage warranty). The headline change is that both models now get the AMG Line package for the first time — previously exclusive to the GLA250, with the GLA200 stuck with the plainer Progressive Line look. AMG Line brings a more aggressive front bumper, a diffuser-style rear valance and drilled sports brakes.
The GLA200 also inherits the GLA250's 19-inch two-tone five-spoke AMG wheels (now finished in black instead of grey), while the GLA250 itself steps up to 20-inch black multi-spoke wheels. The GLA250 additionally gains Multibeam LED matrix projector headlights, while the GLA200 keeps LED reflector units. Interior specs converge between the two: the GLA200 gains Artico synthetic leather, an AMG Nappa leather steering wheel, sport seats and brushed aluminium trim, while both models add dual-zone Thermotronic automatic climate control (with rear vents) and a 360-degree camera. Mechanically nothing changes: the GLA200 uses a Renault-derived M282 1.3-litre turbo four-cylinder making 163 PS/250 Nm through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, doing 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds; the GLA250 uses Mercedes' own M260 2.0-litre turbo engine at 224 PS/350 Nm, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system adding 14 PS/150 Nm, through an eight-speed dual-clutch and 4Matic all-wheel drive, cutting the sprint to 6.8 seconds.
Following a preview last August, Chery's premium-aspiring brand Jaecoo has launched its first B-segment SUV, the J5, aimed at a more accessible price bracket that directly targets the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V while sitting a step above the Chery Tiggo Cross it's based on. The J5 comes in a single front-wheel-drive variant priced at RM108,000 (excluding on-the-road costs and insurance), including a seven-year, 150,000 km warranty; a launch package running until 15 March adds RM8,000 in incentives (a RM3,000 Raya rebate plus a choice of first-year free insurance or a further RM3,000 rebate), bringing the effective price down to RM102,000.
Power comes from the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine as the Tiggo Cross, making 147 PS and 210 Nm, but paired with a CVT rather than the Tiggo Cross's six-speed dual-clutch, doing 0-100 km/h in 10.2 seconds with a 175 km/h top speed. Dimensions are 4,380 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall on a 2,620 mm wheelbase, with styling clearly drawing inspiration from the Range Rover line-up. It features a 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), twin phone holders (one a 50-watt wireless charger) and an eight-speaker system; the faux leather upholstery is TÜV-certified as pet-friendly, being anti-bacterial, scratch-resistant and low-VOC. Safety includes Level 2 semi-autonomous driving assistance, with adaptive cruise control (stop-and-go capable), lane centring, AEB, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
To mark Team Mitsubishi Ralliart's victory at the 2025 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) — the brand's second win at the event after its first in 2022 — Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has launched the limited-run Triton Championship Edition, based on the existing Triton Athlete and AT Premium, capped at 150 and 120 units respectively (270 units total), on sale from 11 March. The Athlete Championship Edition is priced at RM169,980 and the AT Premium Championship Edition at RM155,980 (both on-the-road without insurance), each RM10,000 above the standard equivalent.
The Athlete Championship Edition comes exclusively in Jet Black Mica with rally-inspired body decals and all-terrain tyres, and gains a nine-inch touchscreen (up from seven inches on the standard car) and a 360-degree all-round monitor, with championship-logo headrest covers. Mechanically it retains the 204 PS/470 Nm Hyperpower 4N16 turbodiesel with two-stage turbocharging. The AT Premium Championship Edition is exclusive to White Diamond paintwork with 18-inch black sport wheels, a styling bar and front lower bumper garnish, also gaining the championship headrest covers, powered by the same engine in its lower-output 184 PS/430 Nm tune. Buyers of either edition receive an exclusive key fob case and a motorsport-themed sticker pack.

Less than a year after the facelifted X50 launched, Proton has introduced its first special edition of the B-segment SUV — the X50 Black Edition, limited to 200 units nationwide, offered exclusively in Quartz Black, a colour not previously in the standard palette. The dark paint also cleverly downplays the visual size of the facelift's oversized grille. Pricing matches the top-spec Flagship at RM113,300 (without the previous RM4,000 launch rebate), though a current RM7,000 Raya discount brings the effective price to RM106,300, plus RM800 in trade-in overtrade value.
Beyond the paint, the Black Edition is essentially identical to the Flagship — there's no black wheels or black exterior trim (the grille's red "Ethereal Bow" strip and red brake calipers carry over), and the seats retain their red stitching accents. The car keeps the Flagship's panoramic sunroof and Batmobile-style rear spoiler, plus 18-inch two-tone wheels. Standard kit includes proximity keyless entry, single-zone automatic air-con, an 8.88-inch digital instrument display, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 360-degree camera and a powered tailgate. Power comes from the facelift's 1.5-litre i-GT turbo four-cylinder engine, making 181 PS and 290 Nm, through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch driving the front wheels, doing 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with six airbags and the full ADAS suite carried over.
Nearly three years after its May 2023 launch, Proton's three-row flagship SUV, the X90, receives a minor change (MC) update. Visually it's virtually unchanged (bar new functional roof rails rated for 75 kg), but the pricing structure has been overhauled significantly. The line-up is trimmed from four variants to three: 1.5TD Lite (seven-seat), 1.5TD Prime (seven-seat) and 1.5TD Prime X (six-seat), priced with a RM7,000 rebate at RM99,800, RM109,800 and RM115,800 respectively (RM106,800, RM116,800 and RM122,800 without the rebate) — up to roughly RM30,000 cheaper than the 2023 launch range of RM123,800 to RM152,800 across Standard to Flagship.
Under the bonnet, the previous GEP3 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid system is dropped in favour of a BHE15-EFZ 1.5-litre i-GT turbo four-cylinder — the same unit found in the updated X50, X70 MC3 and S70 MC1 — making 181 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a retuned seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with a claimed 6.9 L/100 km fuel consumption similar to the outgoing mild-hybrid setup. To hit the lower price points, several features have been trimmed: 4G/WiFi connectivity, the auto-dimming rear-view mirror, ambient lighting, the former Flagship's panoramic sunroof and the old Premium's wireless charging pad are all gone, and the powered tailgate is no longer offered. Six airbags carry over, but none of the MC variants come with any ADAS features (previously available from Premium up), which sees the ASEAN NCAP safety rating drop from five stars to one.
Nearly six years after the Ferrari Roma launched in Malaysia, its successor, the Amalfi, has made its local and ASEAN regional debut. This V8 2+2 coupe, named after the picturesque Italian coastal town, is essentially a thorough evolution of the Roma: it retains the cab-rearward silhouette but gets reworked front and rear ends — the nose drops the traditional grille in favour of a floating body-coloured wing above narrow headlights, while the tail features more vertical bumper surfacing with a large diffuser and quad exhaust tips. The active rear spoiler moves to the trailing edge of the boot lid and is now wider, generating 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h in its High Downforce setting (up from the Roma's 95 kg), with under a 4% drag penalty.
Power continues from a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 (F154-family, BH designation), now producing 640 PS (a 20 PS gain over the Roma) via lighter camshafts (saving 1.3 kg) and precision-machined engine block, with torque unchanged at 760 Nm. The turbochargers now spin up to 171,000 rpm, aided by dedicated cylinder pressure sensors on each bank for sharper throttle response. The gearbox carries over the eight-speed wet dual-clutch first seen on the SF90 Stradale, now with a more powerful TCU and deeper integration with engine software for smoother, faster shifts. 0-100 km/h takes 3.3 seconds (0.1 seconds quicker than the Roma), 0-200 km/h takes 9.0 seconds (0.3 seconds quicker), with top speed unchanged at 320 km/h. The cabin ditches the Roma's dual-cockpit layout for a twin-cowl design shared with other family models, replacing the portrait touchscreen with a 10.25-inch landscape display, while the steering wheel reverts to physical buttons (previously haptic), with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No Malaysian pricing has been announced; based on the European base price of €240,000, the local on-the-road figure with duties and taxes is expected to exceed RM1.1 million. The car is brought in by Ital Auto Malaysia, with a seven-year genuine maintenance programme included.
After being reported as Malaysia-bound in late 2024, debuting at the May 2025 Autoshow, being previewed again in November and having its final specification confirmed in December, the boxy off-road-styled Jetour T2 has officially launched in Malaysia. Locally assembled (CKD), it's priced at RM157,669 without insurance (an RM156,800 nett price was used at launch) — well below earlier market estimates. The first 3,000 registrations get an RM2,000 cash rebate, bringing the early-bird price to RM155,669. Coverage includes a seven-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and a 10-year/1,000,000 km powertrain warranty, plus five free services (parts and labour).
The T2's styling clearly draws from the retro off-road looks of the Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco, and it sells an average of 15,000 units a month in China — double the volume of the GWM Tank 300 — making it the domestic leader in the boxy SUV segment there. Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder shared with, but tuned differently from, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, making 245 PS and 375 Nm (with full torque available from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm), through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch and all-wheel drive, with a claimed 7.9 L/100 km fuel consumption qualifying it as an energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) despite an 1,880 kg kerb weight. Dimensions are 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall on a 2,800 mm wheelbase, with a side-hinged powered tailgate opening to 580 litres of cargo space (1,494 litres with seats folded) and an external spare-tyre "backpack" on the tailgate; wading depth is 700 mm. Despite the rugged looks, it's actually a unibody rather than body-on-frame construction, with conventional (non-air) suspension. Kit includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-speaker Sony audio, a 360-degree camera system (with under-car view), dual power-adjustable and ventilated front seats with memory and welcome function, dual-zone auto air-con, a built-in dashcam and a panoramic glass roof. Safety includes the full Level 2 ADAS suite and six airbags, earning a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating — the brand's first model with ADAS. Rolling stock is 19-inch wheels on 255/60 Giti all-terrain tyres, in Khaki White, Aviation Silver or Hero Black.
Citing "strong demand," Porsche Malaysia has reintroduced petrol power to the Macan line-up — since the current second-generation Macan is exclusively battery-electric, what's returning is actually the previous-generation (second facelift, launched in Malaysia in 2022) 2.0-litre turbo petrol variant, offered in limited numbers at RM469,000 without insurance.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four making 265 PS and 400 Nm, driving all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, doing 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds with a 232 km/h top speed. The Malaysian spec includes standard Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) LED headlamps, Sport Design exterior mirrors, a 10.9-inch full-HD touchscreen for the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system, and the same GT sport multifunction steering wheel found on the latest 911; wheels start at 19 inches. Also standard is the Premium package, comprising steel spring suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) variable damping, Power Steering Plus and the Sport Chrono package with mode switch. Other kit includes Comfort Access keyless entry, auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors, Park Assist with reverse camera and Surround View, 14-way power-adjustable comfort seats with memory, mechanical roll-up rear window blinds, and Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition. Warranty is a two-year vehicle warranty plus a two-year complimentary maintenance package.

MINI Malaysia has launched a limited collaboration for fans of British fashion designer Paul Smith — the MINI Paul Smith Edition, based on the all-electric Cooper SE, offered in two exclusive colours in limited numbers. Priced at RM222,222 without insurance (including a standard two-year unlimited-mileage warranty), the price rises to RM228,522 with the MINI Service and Repair Inclusive (MSRI) four-year warranty and service package — around RM28,000 more than the regular Cooper SE.
Mechanically it's identical to the standard Cooper SE: a 54.2 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery good for up to 402 km WLTP, 11 kW max AC charging and 95 kW max DC fast charging (10-80% in under 30 minutes), and a front-mounted electric motor making 218 PS and 330 Nm, doing 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds with a 170 km/h top speed. Visual highlights are Nottingham Green accents on the side mirrors, grille surround and hub caps, with a matching roof carrying Paul Smith's signature stripes between the B- and C-pillars; the 18-inch 'Slide Spoke' alloys are also finished in Nottingham Green with Dark Steel accents and Paul Smith-branded hub caps. Opening the doors projects a handwritten greeting from the mirror puddle lamps. Inside are Nightshade Blue JCW sport seats in Vescin upholstery with Shadow Stripe knitting on the shoulders and headrests plus a Paul Smith label; the dashboard features a black leather band with blue stitching, the door sills read "Every day is a new beginning!" in the designer's handwriting, the floor mats have an embroidered rabbit motif, and the round touchscreen includes three exclusive Paul Smith backgrounds. Colours are Inspired White (a reinterpretation of MINI Classic Pepper White) and Statement Grey (paying homage to the 1959 MINI Austin Seven colour).
Lotus Cars Malaysia has introduced MY27 updates for its electric hyper-SUV Eletre and four-door hyper-GT Emeya, with both entry-level 600 series models gaining upgraded standard equipment — some luxury and performance features previously reserved for higher trims are now standard on the base variants, which the company says delivers greater value for Malaysian customers. Over 300 units of the two models have been delivered nationwide to date.
New standard additions include an integrated active rear spoiler, Nappa leather seats in Jasper with black/dark tri-colour seatbelts, and configurable ambient lighting for a more luxurious cabin feel. Both models also gain a larger wheel package — 22-inch diamond-turned wheels for the Eletre 600 and 21-inch wheels for the Emeya 600, both paired with Pirelli P Zero tyres and six-piston brake calipers in black or red. Existing standard kit carries over: active air suspension with continuous damping control (CDC), brake-applied torque vectoring, LED matrix headlamps, a KEF Premium 15-speaker sound system, a 29-inch head-up display and four-zone climate control. Mechanically, the Eletre 600 retains its dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout at 612 PS and 710 Nm, doing 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with a 258 km/h top speed; a 112 kWh battery (107 kWh usable) offers up to 580 km WLTP range, with an 800-volt architecture supporting up to 350 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in 20 minutes) and 22 kW AC charging. The Emeya 600 shares the same 612 PS/710 Nm output but is slightly quicker at 4.15 seconds to 100 km/h with a 250 km/h top speed; its 102 kWh battery offers up to 610 km WLTP range on the same 800-volt architecture, supporting up to 420 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in just 15 minutes). On pricing, the Eletre 600 stays at RM499,000 (unchanged from its August launch last year), while the Emeya 600 rises slightly to RM489,000 (from RM459,000 previously) — still around RM66,000 cheaper than its August 2024 debut price of RM555,000.
Following a preview last October and estimated pricing announced in February, the Omoda C9 PHEV has officially launched in Malaysia at RM208,800 without insurance, becoming the brand's most powerful model to date. It arrives initially as a fully imported (CBU) model limited to 50 units, before transitioning to locally assembled (CKD) production in Shah Alam. Bookings made between 18 March and 30 April receive a launch package with a RM3,000 Raya rebate and a complimentary V2L (vehicle-to-load) connector worth RM730; select CBU units also come with one year of free insurance coverage (worth RM6,000, while stocks last).
Compared to the petrol C9, the PHEV uses a version of the Super Hybrid System (SHS) from the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, but with a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that lets the engine drive the wheels directly even at lower speeds for stronger acceleration. The powertrain pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (143 PS/215 Nm) with a dual-motor front axle — a P2 integrated starter-generator (102 PS/170 Nm) and a P2.5 traction motor (122 PS/220 Nm) — plus a 238 PS/310 Nm rear motor for all-wheel drive, combining for 537 PS and 650 Nm, doing 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds with a 180 km/h top speed. A 34.46 kWh LFP battery offers up to 145 km of WLTP EV range, and with a 70-litre fuel tank, total range reaches 1,100 km; DC fast charging tops out at 70 kW (30-80% in 25 minutes), with 6.6 kW AC charging taking about 5.5 hours from 30-100%. Suspension features continuous damping control (CDC) with MacPherson struts front and multi-link rear, switchable between Soft/Medium/Hard settings. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch instrument display with head-up display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen ("Hello Omoda" voice activation), a 14-speaker, 390-watt Sony audio system (with two dedicated speakers in the driver's headrest), a 50-watt wireless charger and front/rear USB ports; safety includes adaptive cruise control, lane centring, AEB, a 540-degree camera system and eight airbags. Warranty is seven years/200,000 km on the vehicle and 10 years/1,000,000 km on the engine, with the electric drive components (battery, motors, power electronics) covered for 10 years/200,000 km.
First announced last December, the Omoda C9 Matte Black Limited Edition has now been unveiled at the same 1 Utama roadshow where the C9 PHEV was launched. According to dealer social media posts, deliveries have already begun, with the unit count reported to be somewhere between 100 and 120; the edition appears to be AWD-only, corroborated by its red brake calipers.
As the name suggests, the edition is finished predominantly in matte black, though not entirely — the "OMODA" panel above the grille remains gloss black, and the rear bumper trim strip and side door blades still carry chrome finishing; the "C9" tailgate badge has been removed. Items given the gloss black treatment include the front splitter trim, the rear diffuser centre panel, the 20-inch alloy wheels, the roof rails and the lower half of the mirror caps; the interior remains unchanged. The cosmetic package is said to be priced separately at RM3,000, bringing the AWD variant from RM188,800 to RM191,800, though Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has not yet confirmed whether the package can be retrofitted to existing cars. The base model, on sale since December 2024, is a Shah Alam-assembled D-segment SUV powered by a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine making 261 PS and 400 Nm through an eight-speed automatic, with MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension (adding continuous damping control on the AWD variant).
Isuzu Malaysia has rolled out a 2026 model year update for the D-Max range, with the core change being the replacement of the previous RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre turbodiesel with a new RZ4F-TC 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit across most of the line-up; the 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX turbodiesel continues to be offered on the single cab and double cab X-Terrain variants. The range spans nine variants priced from RM103,121.20 to RM162,938.40 (on-the-road without insurance, for individual private registration).
The new 2.2-litre engine displaces 2,164 cc and produces 163 PS and 400 Nm — 13 PS and 50 Nm more than the outgoing 1.9-litre unit — with a redesigned block, cylinder head, crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods, plus a new turbocharger and a 250 MPa high-pressure fuel injection system. Isuzu claims a 10.7% improvement in extra-urban fuel consumption and a 56% improvement in off-the-line response (with 255 Nm available from 1,000 rpm, more than half of peak torque). The exhaust features a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate diffuser (DPD) and intelligent exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), cutting emissions by 21% and particulate emissions by up to 99%, and it's compatible with biodiesel blends up to B20. It pairs with a new eight-speed automatic co-developed with Aisin, with the first six gears optimised for responsiveness and the seventh and eighth as overdrive ratios for efficiency. The update also brings what's claimed to be Malaysia's first automatic-transmission single-cab pick-up (Single Cab AT, RM109,121.20), with a cargo bed measuring 2,345 x 1,590 x 465 mm and 935 kg payload, plus a new Rough Terrain mode, a new centre console armrest and a body-coloured bumper. Visual updates include a new grille, headlamp and foglamp design (except on the single-cab manual), a redesigned tail lamp cluster, and tailgate assist now standard across the board. Wheels vary from 18-inch (X-Terrain and Premium) to 17-inch (Standard and Auto Plus) to 16-inch (Single Cab variants). Inside, the X-Terrain, Premium and Auto Plus get a 10-inch infotainment unit while the Standard AT/MT get a 7-inch unit. Most variants carry a five-year/150,000 km warranty, with the range-topping X-Terrain upgraded to a seven-year unlimited-mileage warranty; all variants include two years/20,000 km of free maintenance.
Tesla Malaysia has launched the Model Y L, the Model Y family's first stretched six-seater, priced at an estimated RM260,000 (about RM262,615 on-the-road without insurance). Compared to the standard Model Y, the L extends the wheelbase by 150mm to 3,040mm and raises the rear roofline by 44mm for third-row headroom, growing overall length by 179mm to 4,976mm. Thanks to a redesigned tail and black boot-lid spoiler, drag coefficient drops to 0.216 — better than the standard car's 0.22 — making it the most aerodynamic Model Y yet.
Seating is a 2-2-2 six-seat layout, with independent second-row seats featuring power-retractable armrests, heating and ventilation; the third row gets proper headrests (unlike the flat ones on the seven-seater sold in Europe) that fold flat automatically. It's a dual-motor AWD setup doing 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds with a 201 km/h top speed, and a WLTP range of 681 km — the second-longest in Malaysia's current Model Y line-up after the Long Range RWD. Max DC charging is 250 kW, AC charging 11 kW. A new Cosmic Silver champagne-gold colour is exclusive to this model for RM11,000 extra, with standard 19-inch Machina wheels.

Proton has officially launched the new X70 Sport Edition, a limited-run model based on the range-topping Premium variant, capped at just 600 units. Exterior changes include a dedicated aerokit with red-accented front, side and rear skirts; the 19-inch wheels keep the Premium's design but switch to gloss black, while a chrome tailgate badge with red lines marks it out. It's offered exclusively in Quartz Black, the colour previously used on the X50 Black Edition. Inside, red stitching appears on the seats, steering wheel and front armrest, with Sport Edition embroidery on the seatbacks and a new boot tray.
Proton says these enhancements are worth RM6,000, but buyers only pay RM2,500 extra. The Premium currently retails at RM112,800 (factoring in a registration rebate valid through April 30), putting the X70 Sport Edition at RM115,300. Mechanically it's identical to the Premium, with a BHE15-EFZ 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection engine making 181 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels; the full ADAS suite carries over as standard.
Porsche distributor Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has introduced the 2026 update to the Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, with the locally assembled (CKD) models gaining sportier-looking 21-inch RS Spyder Y-spoke wheels in place of the previous 20-inch design. This brings a price increase: the standard Cayenne rises RM9,001 to RM609,000, while the plug-in hybrid S E-Hybrid Coupé climbs RM11,000 to RM739,000 — both now bundled with a 10-year Porsche Connect digital services subscription, up from just two years. The larger wheels necessitate body-coloured wheel arch extensions.
Mechanicals are unchanged: the Cayenne uses a 3.0-litre turbo V6 making 353 PS and 500 Nm, with standard eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, doing 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds. The S E-Hybrid Coupé pairs the same V6 with a 176 PS/460 Nm electric motor for a combined 519 PS and 750 Nm, cutting the sprint to 4.7 seconds; its 21.8 kWh battery gives 88 km of EV range, chargeable in 2 hours 45 minutes via an 11 kW AC wallbox. A new matte Arctic Grey colour joins the palette, with a RM49,000 Exclusive Manufaktur package adding body-coloured trim, a "Porsche" logo projector and colour-matched keys.
The MG S5 EV has officially gone local (CKD), becoming SAIC brand MG's first locally assembled model in Malaysia, built at EPMB Plant 2 in Pegoh, Melaka. The CKD version is offered in a sole Lux specification, priced at RM117,528 without insurance. Compared to the CBU version launched in May 2025, the powertrain gets an upgrade: the same single rear-motor layout now makes 205 PS and 350 Nm, up from 170 PS and 250 Nm — gains of 35 PS and 100 Nm.
The 62 kWh LFP battery is unchanged, rated at 446 km WLTP, with DC fast charging up to 150 kW taking about 26 minutes from 10-80%. Comfort kit gets a small bump on the CKD version: full leatherette seats (versus leather-fabric combo on the CBU), a power-adjustable front passenger seat (manual on CBU) and a hands-free powered tailgate. Safety carries over with seven airbags and Level 2.5 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, AEB and blind spot detection. Colours are Grey, Silver and Gold, with warranty at seven years/150,000 km on the vehicle, plus eight years/180,000 km on the battery and eight years/160,000 km on the drive motor control unit.
BMW Malaysia has announced the local arrival of the XM Label, succeeding the previous Label Red and now the sole variant available in the XM line-up here. It's priced at RM1,554,800 without insurance, or RM1,650,500 with the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive package (a five-year warranty and servicing plan plus an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty). The powertrain carries over from the Label Red: a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 585 PS and 750 Nm on its own, combined with a 197 PS/480 Nm electric motor for a total of 748 PS and 1,000 Nm, sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic for a 3.8-second century sprint and an electronically limited 250 km/h top speed.
A 25.7 kWh battery delivers up to 83 km of WLTP electric-only range, with a max EV-mode speed of 140 km/h; standard 11 kW AC charging fills the battery in 2 hours 45 minutes. This update brings a retuned chassis for better road feedback and added acoustic insulation for a quieter cabin. Four new BMW Individual matte Frozen paint finishes join the range — Tanzanite Blue, Marina Bay Blue, Black and Brilliant White — paired with 23-inch high-gloss black Style 1096 M wheels; inside, Merino leather comes in Night Blue, Deep Black, Deep Lagoon and Silverstone, with comfort cushions now standard across all colours.

The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport has landed in Malaysia as the higher-powered complement to the X3 20 xDrive M Sport launched in June 2025. It's priced at RM358,800 without insurance, or RM386,700 with the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive five-year warranty and servicing package — RM33,000 more than the entry X3 20. Power comes from the same 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, but tuned harder: output climbs from the X3 20's 190 PS/310 Nm to 258 PS and 400 Nm, sent through an eight-speed automatic and xDrive all-wheel drive for a 0-100 km/h time cut from 7.8 to 6.3 seconds, with top speed rising from 215 to 240 km/h.
Visually it steps up to 20-inch Style 1036 M bicolour wheels (255/45R20 front, 285/40R20 rear) with dark blue metallic-painted brake calipers; despite the M Sport badge, suspension remains the standard tune rather than a sportier setup. Inside there's an M Anthracite headliner, a flat-bottom three-spoke M Sport wheel and ventilated sport seats in black Veganza perforated synthetic leather. Audio jumps from the X3 20's six-speaker, 100-watt system to a 15-speaker, 765-watt Harman Kardon surround setup, while the BMW Curved Display combo of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen carries over. Colours are Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Dune Grey and Tanzanite Blue.

PHS Automotive Malaysia has launched the third-generation Audi Q5 in two forms: the conventional SUV-shaped Advanced and the coupe-styled Sportback S line. Both ride on Audi's new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, built specifically for its latest internal-combustion models. The front-wheel-drive Advanced uses a 2.0-litre turbo engine making 199 PS and 340 Nm, while the Sportback S line steps up to quattro all-wheel drive with 272 PS and 400 Nm, both through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Inside, the "Digital Stage" concept pairs a 14.5-inch curved OLED MMI display with an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, and includes the ChatGPT-powered Audi Assistant. Standard coverage is a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty plus five years of complimentary maintenance and roadside assistance, extendable to five years via the Audi Assurance Package. Following a surprise preview in late March, the all-new Subaru Crosstrek has officially gone on sale in Malaysia. Previously badged the XV here, Subaru has now standardised the Crosstrek nameplate globally, a name long used in North America. Malaysia gets a single 2.0i-S EyeSight variant, fully imported (CBU) from Japan and priced at RM190,788 without insurance. It continues to use the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), now 10% stiffer than before, allowing softer springs for improved ride comfort without sacrificing handling.
Power comes from a familiar 2.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer four-cylinder making 156 PS and 196 Nm, paired with a Lineartronic CVT and Subaru's signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, good for a 10.5-second sprint to 100 km/h. Safety gets a boost from EyeSight 4.0, which adds a wide-angle monocular camera to the existing stereo pair for a wider detection range, alongside Dual-Function X-Mode off-road settings, lane centring and autonomous braking. Dimensions grow slightly to 4,480 mm long and 1,800 mm wide with 220 mm of ground clearance, backed by a five-year/100,000 km warranty.

UMW Toyota Motor has launched the Yaris Cross, sister model to the Perodua Traz that debuted in December 2025 and sharing the same DNGA-based B-segment SUV underpinnings, though it's built at Toyota's own Bukit Raja plant (alongside the Vios Hybrid) rather than the Traz's Rawang line. Dimensions match the Traz at 4,310 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, 2,620 mm wheelbase and 210 mm ground clearance. The clearest differences are the grille and taillight treatment, plus the Yaris Cross's larger two-tone 18-inch wheels.
The entry 1.5S uses a 2NR-VE 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine making 106 PS and 138 Nm for RM99,900, while the range-topping 1.5S HEV adds RM10,000 for Toyota's fourth-generation hybrid system, pairing a 91 PS/121 Nm engine with an 80 PS/141 Nm motor for 111 PS combined and a claimed 27.8 km/L fuel economy. Both variants get a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital meter and the full Toyota Safety Sense suite with adaptive cruise control and auto high beam. Coverage is a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, plus eight years on the hybrid system (extendable to 10 years for a fee).

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the Nightfall Edition of the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 4Matic Coupé, adding a more menacing dark-chrome aesthetic to the standard car that debuted in November 2024. It's the brand's second Nightfall special edition after the GLA200/250 Nightfall introduced in March, priced at RM518,888 — RM10,000 more than the regular GLC43 Coupé. Visually, it gains the AMG Night Package Exterior II with dark chrome on the grille slats, rear star and model badging, plus a silver-chrome fuel filler cap with black accents.
Mechanically it's unchanged from the standard car: a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system makes 421 PS and 500 Nm on its own, sent through a nine-speed Speedshift MCT gearbox to all four wheels for a 4.5-second century sprint and an electronically limited 250 km/h top speed. New is AMG Real Performance Sound, letting drivers toggle between Balanced and Powerful engine-note profiles from the touchscreen. The cabin keeps AMG sport seats, carbon-fibre trim and a Burmester 3D surround system, riding on the same 21-inch AMG Y-spoke wheels with silver brake calipers.
Fresh off their preview at last week's Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo, the Foton Tunland V7 and V9 pick-up twins have officially launched, marking the first time the Tunland name has been sold here under its own badge (an earlier model arrived as the Bison Savanna). Both share identical dimensions — 5,617 mm long, 2,090 mm wide, 1,955 mm tall on a 3,355 mm wheelbase — making them 292 mm longer, 190 mm wider and 140 mm taller than the current Toyota Hilux, sitting between mid-size pick-ups and American full-size trucks. The V7 (silver, F-150-inspired nose) is commercial-leaning with leaf-spring rear suspension, while the V9 (red, Ram 1500-inspired nose) targets lifestyle buyers with multi-link rear suspension and electric power steering.
Both share an Aucan 4F20 2.0-litre turbodiesel co-developed with Cummins, featuring a variable-geometry turbo and 48-volt mild-hybrid system: 163 PS/400 Nm from the engine alone, plus 12 PS/50 Nm from the electric motor, through an eight-speed automatic and BorgWarner four-wheel-drive transfer case. Safety kit diverges sharply — the V7 gets just two airbags while the V9 adds six airbags plus AEB, adaptive cruise control and lane centring. The initial batch arrives as CBU imports, with local (CKD) assembly in Johor beginning in the fourth quarter.

iCaur Malaysia has announced that its debut model, the 03, is now locally assembled (CKD) at Chery Corporate Malaysia's Shah Alam plant. Previously sold as a fully imported (CBU) model since September 2025 in 2WD and iWD guises, the CKD version launches with the dual-motor iWD only, at RM129,880 without insurance — nearly identical to the earlier tax-exempt CBU price. iCaur says a 2WD CKD variant will follow later. Each purchase includes a 7 kW AC home charger and two years or 45,000 km of free servicing.
Specifications carry over unchanged from the CBU model: a 95 PS/165 Nm front motor and 184 PS/220 Nm rear motor combine for 279 PS and 385 Nm, enabling a 6.5-second 0-100 km/h sprint. The 69.8 kWh LFP battery is rated at up to 418 km NEDC, supporting 6.6 kW AC and 80 kW DC charging (30-80% in around 30 minutes). Warranty spans seven years/150,000 km on the vehicle plus eight years/160,000 km on the battery and drive unit, with a one-to-one battery replacement if health drops below 70%. Standard kit includes 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags and Level 2 ADAS, with a Black Phantom off-road-styled edition available for RM20,000 more.
After 15 months as the sole Denza on sale here, the D9 MPV finally gets a sibling — the B8. It's a rebadged version of China's Fangchengbao Bao 8, a flagship body-on-frame 4x4 from BYD's off-road sub-brand, measuring 5,195 mm long, 1,994 mm wide and 1,905 mm tall on a 2,920 mm wheelbase — bigger than the GWM Tank 500 in every dimension and even larger than a Toyota Land Cruiser 300. It comes in a seven-seat Dynamic and six-seat Premium, priced at RM458,800 and RM518,800 respectively (RM459,939 and RM519,939 with on-the-road costs).
Power comes from BYD's Dual-Mode Off-road (DMO) plug-in hybrid system: a longitudinal 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder making 197 PS/350 Nm on its own, paired with a 272 PS/360 Nm front motor and 408 PS/400 Nm rear motor for a combined 612 PS and 760 Nm, enabling a 4.8-second century sprint. A 36.8 kWh Blade battery offers roughly 115 km of NEDC EV range, and with a 91-litre tank, total range reaches 1,040 km NEDC. The DiSus-P hydraulic suspension adjusts ride height by 140 mm, boosting wading depth to 890 mm with approach and departure angles of 34 and 35 degrees. Safety includes nine airbags with a front-centre unit; warranty runs six years/150,000 km on the vehicle and eight years/160,000 km on the battery and drive system.
GWM Malaysia has added a hybrid variant to the Tank 300 line-up, priced at RM259,800 without insurance — just RM9,800 more than the petrol version launched here in July 2024. The HEV pairs a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder making 245 PS/380 Nm on its own with a 106 PS/268 Nm electric motor and 1.67 kWh ternary lithium battery, for a combined 346 PS and 648 Nm, well ahead of the petrol car's 220 PS/380 Nm — and steps up from an eight-speed to a nine-speed hybrid automatic. Full-time four-wheel drive, front and rear locking differentials, tank turn and a Crawl mode with a 66% max climbing angle all carry over, with identical approach, ramp and departure angles of 34, 23 and 33 degrees.
HEV-exclusive features include auto parking assist and a companion app that shows tyre pressure and temperature, fuel level, mileage, vehicle location, and lets owners remotely control the air-con, seat ventilation, and windows. A new Sand Beige colour joins Crystal Black and Pearl White, while the signature orange paint and 18-inch two-tone wheels remain exclusive to the petrol model. Coverage includes a lifetime engine and transmission warranty for first-hand owners, an eight-year/180,000 km battery warranty, a six-year unlimited-mileage vehicle and hybrid-system warranty, plus five years of free maintenance and Level 2 telematics.
Malaysia is the first Asia-Pacific market to receive the facelifted Atto 3, and the first market anywhere for the nameplate to offer front- and rear-wheel drive side by side — a pairing rarely seen outside a handful of commercial vans. The entry Ultra keeps the familiar front-wheel-drive layout with largely unchanged mechanicals (204 PS, 310 Nm, 7.3 seconds to 100 km/h, a 60.48 kWh battery and 420 km WLTP range), gaining faster 110 kW DC charging, up from 88 kW. At RM125,800 it costs just RM2,000 more than the outgoing car's launch price, reflecting new import and excise duties on CBU EVs this year.
The real story is the Premium, which imports Europe's Evo specification wholesale: a rear-mounted motor now making 230 kW (308 PS) and 380 Nm for a 5.5-second sprint, a bigger 74.88 kWh battery good for 510 km WLTP, and DC charging up to 220 kW. Suspension steps up to dual-ball-joint MacPherson struts and a five-link rear end, shared with the Seal 6. Both variants share redesigned front and rear bumpers, new taillights and a spoiler-integrated third brake light. Colours are Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Harbour Grey and Ski White, with a complimentary V2L adapter and portable charger included. Coverage runs to six years or 150,000 km on the vehicle, plus eight years or 160,000 km on the battery and drive unit.
Sime Darby Auto ConneXion introduced three new Everest variants at the Sime Motors MotorExpo on 5 June, expanding the Ranger-based seven-seater to five trim levels — Sport, Trend, Titanium, Wildtrak and Platinum. The flagship Platinum 3.0L V6, at RM430,888, marks the first time a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel (250 PS, 600 Nm) has featured in the Everest range, paired with a 10-speed automatic and a full-time 4WD system with an ElectroMagnetic Transfer Case. It's identified by a unique grille, 21-inch wheels, heated and ventilated quilted leather seats and a Bang & Olufsen eight-speaker system. The step-down Platinum 2.0L (RM348,888) uses the 170 PS/405 Nm 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel with the same 10-speed auto and part-time 4WD.
The entry Sport 2.0L was also updated (RM316,888), keeping the same 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel but gaining the 10-speed automatic in place of the old six-speed, switching to Ford's ESOF part-time 4WD, and adding six drive modes. It also gains Command Grey, previously exclusive to the Ranger Raptor. Early buyers get two years of free servicing.

Suzuki Malaysia launched two new three-door Jimny variants on 5 June — AllGrip Plus and the more rugged-styled Rhino Plus — pricing unchanged from the outgoing AllGrip Pro at RM158,900 (Rhino Plus at RM173,900). Mechanicals carry over entirely: the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 100 PS and 130 Nm, a four-speed automatic and the AllGrip Pro part-time 4WD system.
Every change is in safety and convenience. Side and curtain airbags join the mix, taking the count from two to six, and the Jimny gets ADAS for the first time — adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention, weaving alert and automatic high beam, backed by a millimetre-wave-radar reverse camera and Dual Sensor Brake Support II autonomous braking. The infotainment screen grows from seven to nine inches, and front and rear parking sensors plus power-folding mirrors are added. Rhino Plus builds on this with a honeycomb grille, 15-inch polished wheels and red mud flaps. On 26 June, Suzuki Malaysia further announced that the Jimny AllGrip Plus, Rhino Plus and the Fronx range would move from a 3-year/100,000 km warranty to 5 years, unlimited mileage.
Alongside the two Jimny variants, Suzuki launched the sportier Fronx Sport at RM130,888. It's based on the Fronx Hybrid launched last November and shares its mechanicals entirely — the 1.5-litre K15C mild-hybrid engine (103 PS, 138 Nm) with a six-speed automatic, front-wheel drive. The changes are purely cosmetic: a front lip extension, side skirts, a blacked-out grille and logo, optional 17-inch wheels on Continental UltraContact UC7 tyres (versus 16-inch on the base car), a rear diffuser and spoiler, plus Fronx Sport side decals. Only two dual-tone colours are offered: Pearl Snow White and Cool Black.
More notable is that Suzuki Malaysia simultaneously cut the base Fronx's price by RM29,000, from RM147,888 to RM118,888 — a figure that drew plenty of "too expensive" criticism at its late-2025 launch, now brought closer to where B-segment SUV buyers actually shop.
Lexus Malaysia officially launched the new LX700h on 9 June, and the brand's flagship off-roader arrives exclusively as a hybrid this generation — there's no non-electrified LX600 on offer. Three variants map to different seating layouts: the seven-seat Urban and five-seat F Sport share an identical RM1,540,000 sticker (the choice between them being about lifestyle, not budget), while the four-seat VIP sits at RM1,715,000 as the dedicated chauffeur-focused flagship.
All three run the same 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid system for a combined 464 PS. As the luxury sibling to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the LX shares its GA-F body-on-frame platform with the smaller Lexus GX. The VIP drops the third row entirely for a four-seat cabin with two individual captain's chairs in the second row — the rear-left "boss" seat reclines up to 48 degrees with an extendable ottoman, while the front passenger seat folds forward at the touch of a button to free up maximum legroom, echoing the layout used in the Lexus LS.
Bermaz Xpeng launched the facelifted X9 on 9 June, and this seven-seat electric MPV gains all-wheel drive for the first time, still fully imported from China. Three variants are offered: 2WD Standard Range (RM281,073), 2WD Long Range (RM299,073), and the new AWD Performance (RM335,573).
The Standard Range runs a 94.8 kWh LFP battery for 535 km WLTP, while the Long Range and AWD Performance step up to a 110 kWh NMC pack good for 615 km and 580 km respectively. Both 2WD variants retain the 320 PS/450 Nm single front motor, while the new AWD Performance adds a second motor for a combined 503 PS and 640 Nm, cutting the sprint to 100 km/h to 5.9 seconds. Thanks to the 800-volt silicon-carbide architecture, DC charging peaks at 542 kW, taking 10 to 80 per cent in around 12 minutes.
Visual changes centre on the front bumper — a new active grille replaces the old decorative trim, updating the "Robot Face" look — while 20-inch wheels keep their Rolls-Royce-style self-centring hubcaps. Inside are a new 27-speaker sound system, 40:60 split-folding second-row seats, and an onboard fridge with a child lock. Coverage runs to five years or 120,000 km on the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 km on the battery, with five years or 100,000 km of free servicing.
Pro-Net unveiled the Proton eMas 7 Premium Plus at KLIMS 2026, becoming the new flagship of the eMas 7 EV range at RM118,800, introducing the same larger-battery upgrade already rolled out to its overseas twin, the Geely EX5. All three variants are assembled locally at Proton's dedicated EV plant in Tanjong Malim.
The core upgrade is battery capacity, up from the Premium's 60.22 kWh to 68.39 kWh, lifting WLTP range from 410 km to 450 km. The motor stays at 218 PS and 320 Nm, though the added battery weight nudges the century sprint from 6.9 to 7.4 seconds. Charging sees a modest bump too — DC fast charging rises from 100 kW to 115 kW, with a 30 to 80 per cent top-up still taking 20 minutes; AC charging holds at 11 kW, with a full charge taking about 6.7 hours, roughly 30 minutes longer than the Premium.
Equipment-wise, the Premium Plus adds dual front massage seats, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat with memory function, and an integrated leg rest. Coverage runs to six years, unlimited mileage on the vehicle, and eight years or 160,000 km on the high-voltage battery and related components.
Bermaz used KLIMS 2026 to add a significant new variant to the CX-60 line-up — the 3.3G AWD High Plus — upgrading the four-cylinder 2.5L variant introduced only last September (RM200,510) to a turbocharged 3.3-litre straight-six, priced at RM252,872.80, a RM52,363 premium. It's also the first six-cylinder engine to appear in a Malaysian model from Mazda's Large Product Group platform family.
The new engine is the e-SkyActiv G 3.3-litre turbo straight-six, making 280 PS and 450 Nm on its own, paired with a 48-volt M Hybrid Boost mild-hybrid system (an integrated starter-generator drawing from a 0.33 kWh lithium-ion battery) adding 16 PS and 153 Nm, for a combined peak of 284 PS and 450 Nm. The CX-60 uses a longitudinal, rear-drive-based architecture — quite different from the transverse, front-drive CX-5 — paired with Mazda's i-Activ AWD, and gains an Off-Road mode alongside the existing Normal and Sport settings.
Two colour-and-trim combinations are offered: Rhodium White with a Pure White interior, and Machine Gray with Tan — the former getting a bar-type grille, the latter a honeycomb design, both on 20-inch wheels finished differently. Coverage is the standard five years or 100,000 km with a complimentary service package.
After being spotted testing on Malaysian roads on several occasions, the SAIC Maxus eTerron 9 made its official Malaysian debut at KLIMS 2026, brought in by Weststar Maxus at RM223,888. Known as the Interstellar X in China, it first appeared in Europe back in September 2024. At 5,500 mm long, 2,005 mm wide and 1,860 mm tall on a 3,300 mm wheelbase, it's longer than both the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
The eTerron 9 runs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system for a combined 436 PS (325 kW) and 700 Nm, paired with a 102 kWh LFP battery for 430 km of WLTP range. The cabin gets two-tone leather upholstery, twin 12.3-inch digital displays for instruments and infotainment, a floating centre console and a two-spoke steering wheel, with a powered driver's seat offering ventilation and massage. Beyond the rear bed, there's a 236-litre front trunk.
For buyers who still prefer conventional diesel power, Maxus also offers the Terron 9 diesel at RM140,888. Sharing nearly identical bodywork, the Terron 9 gets full-time four-wheel drive with locking differentials and off-road modes for wading, rock-crawling and custom low-range settings, plus the same twin-screen layout, 360-degree camera and wired/wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.
Following its global debut in June 2024, the Volkswagen Golf R Mk8.5 officially launched in Malaysia on 19 June. Like the Mk8 before it, the new car remains a CKD offering, with the Pekan, Pahang plant retaining its unique status as the only place outside Germany that locally assembles the Golf R. VPCM prices it at RM338,812 (excluding insurance and the Volkswagen Assurance Package); adding the VAP — five years of unlimited-mileage warranty, five years of maintenance and five years of roadside assistance — costs RM18,200 more, bringing the total to RM357,012. Without it, buyers get just a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty and roadside assistance.
Power still comes from the familiar EA888 2.0-litre turbo four, now retuned to 333 PS and 420 Nm (up from 320 PS/400 Nm before), sent through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system with R Performance Torque Vectoring — cutting the 0-100 km/h time from 4.8 to 4.6 seconds, with top speed still limited electronically to 250 km/h.
The front end gets sharper lines with a new aerodynamic bumper incorporating brake cooling ducts, and IQ.Light LED matrix headlights with High Beam Plus are now standard. The rear gains IQ.Light 3D LED taillights with dynamic indicators. The 19-inch Estoril alloys and Akrapovič titanium quad exhaust carry over from the Mk8. A new Dolphin Grey colour joins Lapiz Blue, Grenadilla Black and Pure White. The biggest cabin change is a new 12.9-inch Discover Media infotainment system running the latest MIB4 software, replacing the old 10-inch unit with noticeably snappier response.
Following its preview at KLIMS 2026, Zeekr Malaysia officially launched the facelifted X on 23 June, continuing with Premium RWD and Flagship AWD variants priced at RM158,800 and RM175,800 respectively — a modest RM4,200/RM4,000 increase over the 2024 launch prices of RM155,800 and RM172,800.
Powertrain gains are the headline. The Premium's single motor output rises from 200 kW to 250 kW (340 PS), with 373 Nm and a 5.3-second sprint to 100 km/h; the flagship dual-motor setup jumps to a combined 365 kW (496 PS) and 573 Nm, cutting the century sprint to just 3.7 seconds. Premium AC charging rises to 11 kW, with DC charging officially rated at 150 kW (though Zeekr Malaysia says up to 200 kW in practice), taking 10 to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes; the Flagship's AC charging improves to 22 kW, reaching a full charge in four hours.
Both variants now come standard with powered front doors (eliminating traditional door-handle cutouts entirely, operated via B-pillar buttons and rear door panels for an ultra-minimalist look), an intelligent interactive B-pillar display that doubles as a charging-status indicator, a built-in 5.1-litre fridge (adjustable from -6°C to 50°C), and a touch-capable multifunction steering wheel. Boot space grows from 362 to 404 litres. The infotainment screen is upgraded to 14.6 inches (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset), adjustable up to 353 mm toward the front passenger. For 2026, Zeekr has also flattened the equipment gap between variants — features once exclusive to the Flagship, like the AR head-up display, premium audio and the smart B-pillar screen, are now standard on the Premium too.
The Chery Tiggo 9 was launched on 23 June at the historic Sultan Abdul Samad Building in Kuala Lumpur, completing Chery Group's trio of flagship SUVs — alongside the Omoda C9 and Jaecoo J8 — as the only one of the three offered with seven seats, and priced most accessibly.
Power comes from the same 2.0-litre TGDi turbo four used in the Tiggo 8 Pro (256 PS, 390 Nm), paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, but the Tiggo 9 comes with standard all-wheel drive (the Tiggo 8 line is FWD-only), plus seven drive modes — Eco, Normal, Sport, Sand, Mud, Snow and Off-Road. At 4,810 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,741 mm tall on a 2,800 mm wheelbase, it's 88 mm longer and 65 mm wider than the Tiggo 8 Pro, with a 90 mm longer wheelbase, making it the largest model in Chery Malaysia's line-up.
Pricing runs through two early-bird packages: Flexi at RM166,800 (no extra incentives, but pitched by Chery as "RM500 better value overall"), and Prime at RM179,800 with a RM5,000 cash rebate, RM3,000 fuel subsidy and a year of free insurance worth RM4,500 — netting out to roughly RM171,800 after the rebate and subsidy. Both packages carry a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year or one-million-km engine warranty, and five years of all-inclusive free servicing. The body structure uses 85 per cent high-strength steel (including 21 per cent hot-formed steel), backed by 10 airbags and a 23-function ADAS 2.5 suite including automatic park assist. Just two colours are offered: Matte Grey and Carbon Black.
Naza Eastern Motors launched the Suzuki eVitara on 26 June in relatively low-key fashion, marking the brand's first-ever battery-electric vehicle, priced at RM188,000 on-the-road without insurance, and arriving in limited numbers. It shares its platform with the Toyota Urban Cruiser launched here in April — both built by Suzuki Motor Gujarat in India — yet the eVitara undercuts the Urban Cruiser (RM198,000) by RM10,000.
Worth noting: Malaysia gets the front-wheel-drive version (same as Indonesia), not the previously teased ALLGRIP-e all-wheel-drive variant. It rides on the dedicated Heartect-e EV platform, with the battery pack mounted under the floor for a lower centre of gravity and added body rigidity. A front-mounted motor makes 174 PS (128 kW) and 193 Nm, paired with a 61.1 kWh LFP battery for 426 km of WLTP range — 8.7 seconds to 100 km/h, with a 150 km/h top speed.
Styling is inspired by a "metal beast" concept, with dimensions of 4,275 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall on a 2,700 mm wheelbase — 310 mm longer and 155 mm wider than the Jimny 5-Door. Colours run to two single-tones (Celestial Blue Pearl Metallic, Bluish Black Pearl) and three two-tone combinations (all paired with a black roof), the latter costing RM1,000 more. Coverage is five years unlimited mileage on the vehicle, five years or 100,000 km on EV components, and eight years or 160,000 km on the battery; the first 10 buyers get five years of complimentary charging.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia launched the all-new Tayron on 13 July, a seven-seat SUV slotting between the Tiguan and Touareg and taking over from the Tiguan Allspace. The name blends "Tiger" and "Iron", and both variants are assembled locally at the Pekan plant in Pahang.
At 4,792 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,660 mm tall on a 2,788 mm wheelbase, it stretches 253 mm beyond the third-generation Tiguan it is based on. Malaysia gets it exclusively as a seven-seater in a 2-3-2 layout.
Two characters, two powertrains
The entry Elegance runs a 1.5-litre eTSI turbo four with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance and ACTplus cylinder deactivation, good for 150 PS and 250 Nm through a seven-speed wet DSG to the front wheels — 9.6 seconds to 100 km/h and 6.1 l/100 km on WLTP. The flagship R-Line steps up to a 2.0-litre TSI with 265 PS and 400 Nm, paired with 4Motion all-wheel drive, cutting the century sprint to 6.1 seconds.
Equipment splits cleanly: Elegance gets LED Plus headlights, a 12.9-inch Discover head unit and an eight-speaker system, while R-Line upgrades to IQ.Light HD matrix headlights, a 15-inch Discover Pro Max, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon setup, a head-up display and an around-view monitor. Both share a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, DCC Pro adaptive damping and the IQ.Drive assistance suite.
R-Line pricing came a month later
Only the Elegance had confirmed pricing on launch day (RM190,510, or RM200,610 with the Volkswagen Assurance Package); the R-Line was shown as a preview with an indicative RM259,000–269,000 window. Official R-Line pricing landed on 12 August at RM238,574 (RM250,074 with VAP) — more than RM20,000 under the estimate, and RM48,064 above the Elegance. Five colours are offered: Oryx White Pearl, Grenadilla Black, Dolphin Grey, Nightshade Blue and Oyster Silver. Tied to the national day celebrations, the first 69 owners receive seven years of free maintenance among other perks.
BYD's premium brand Denza launched the Z9GT in Kuala Lumpur on 15 July. It is the brand's third model here after the D9 and B8 — and the shooting brake flagship's first launch anywhere in Asia-Pacific outside China. Malaysia is in fact the first right-hand-drive market in the world to get it, ahead of the UK, Australia, Thailand and Indonesia.
Local cars are the updated 2026 model rather than the 2024 original, which brings a roof-mounted lidar unit, new 20-inch Y-spoke wheels on Continental EcoContact 7 tyres, a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel and a column-mounted gear selector. Malaysian units skip the optional side-view cameras and their interior screens.
Three motors, 1,156 PS, 2.7 seconds
The e³ platform's tri-motor all-wheel-drive system is the headline: 313 PS and 430 Nm at the front axle, plus two independently controlled rear motors making 422 PS and 400 Nm each. Combined output is 1,156 PS (850 kW) and 1,210 Nm — up 191 PS and 100 Nm on the pre-update car — for 2.7 seconds to 100 km/h and a 240 km/h top speed. Denza benchmarks it against the Porsche Taycan and Panamera; a local Taycan starts near RM700,000.
1,000 volts and a five-minute splash
The 2026 update brings BYD's second-generation Blade battery, up from 100 kWh to 122.49 kWh, for 600 km of WLTP range. The real party trick is the 1,000-volt architecture enabling 1,500 kW Flash Charging: 10 to 70 per cent in five minutes, or 10 to 97 per cent in nine. That requires BYD's bespoke Flash Charging stations, which BYD Malaysia has confirmed are coming — initially at selected BYD and Denza showrooms and service centres, and open to all brands. AC charging tops out at 11 kW.
Crab walk and a lounge cabin
Rear-wheel steering of up to 20 degrees shrinks the turning radius of this five-metre-plus car to just 4.62 metres. There is also an Intelligent Crab Walk mode for diagonal movement and standard DiSus-A air suspension, tuned to match the European specification.
Inside sit twin 13.2-inch driver and passenger displays, a 17.3-inch 2.5K centre touchscreen, a 50-inch augmented-reality head-up display, a 9.1-inch digital rear-view mirror and a six-inch rear control screen, all running Google Automotive Services. Add front and rear fridges, a panoramic glass roof, four-zone climate control, three 50-watt wireless chargers and a 20-speaker, 1,150-watt Devialet system with Dolby Atmos. Boot space is 495 litres with a 53-litre frunk, and there are nine airbags.
Just two colours are offered — Obsidian Black and Rime Gold. Coverage runs to six years or 150,000 km on the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 km on the battery and drive unit, plus six years of free scheduled servicing worth RM10,000 and a pair of Denza × Devialet earbuds.
The second-generation (G87) BMW M2 CS made its Malaysian debut at the BMW Clubhouse event on 16 July, just over a year after its global reveal in May 2025. It was launched alongside the M3 Touring Competition and the 218 Gran Coupé M Sport.
The CS suffix needs little explanation to BMW followers: it is an M2 with every dial turned up. The S58 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six now makes 530 PS (390 kW), good for 3.8 seconds to 100 km/h, still sent exclusively to the rear wheels.
A chassis built for the circuit
The CS sits 8 mm lower than a standard M2, with springs, dampers and chassis control systems specifically retuned for track work. Braking is by an M Compound system with the obligatory red calipers, while an M-specific exhaust adds electrically controlled flaps and quad tailpipes. Track tyres are fitted to staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear star-spoke Style 827 M wheels finished in Gold Bronze.
Carbon fibre throughout the cabin
Inside, lightweight materials dominate: an M Alcantara flat-bottomed steering wheel with carbon fibre spokes and a red 12 o'clock marker, carbon shift paddles and twin M buttons. The transmission tunnel carries a weight-saving carbon centre console with a high-gloss weave and a debossed red CS logo. Door panels get illuminated CS lettering, joined by velour floor mats and an M Anthracite headliner.
Three colours are offered — Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey and Velvet Blue — with a single Merino Black interior with M highlights. For context, a standard M2 costs RM656,800 (RM699,100 with BSRI), putting the CS premium at RM294,000. BMW has said the M2 CS is a limited run.
车色提供 Skyscraper Grey 与 Isle of Man Green 两种:前者可选 Merino Yas Marina Blue 或 Merino Silverstone 内饰,后者则专属搭配 Merino Kyalami Orange。
The G81 BMW M3 Touring Competition M xDrive was officially launched in Malaysia on 16 July — the first time the M3 has been sold here in wagon form. Cars like this were previously grey-import territory with no factory backing. The timing coincides with the M3 nameplate's 40th anniversary.
Power comes from the same S58 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six found in the facelifted G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4: 530 PS at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm from 2,750 to 5,730 rpm, up 20 PS on the pre-facelift unit. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic and M xDrive all-wheel drive deliver 3.6 seconds to 100 km/h and a limited 250 km/h top speed. BMW quotes a 7:35.06 Nürburgring lap.
Performance meets practicality
The estate body is the point of difference: 500 litres of luggage space with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,510 litres folded, behind a powered tailgate. The face matches the facelifted G80 M3 and G82 M4, with vertical arrowhead daytime running lights.
Adaptive M suspension is standard, adjusting to road surface and driving style within fractions of a second, and M Compound brakes with high-gloss red calipers handle stopping. Wheels are staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Double-spoke Style 825 M Bicolour Black items.
Cabin and colours
Inside are M carbon bucket seats in Merino leather, M seat belts and an M Anthracite headliner. The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch control display with M-specific graphics, set off by carbon fibre trim.
Two colours are offered. Skyscraper Grey pairs with either Merino Yas Marina Blue or Merino Silverstone; Isle of Man Green comes exclusively with Merino Kyalami Orange. Against the M3 Competition M xDrive sedan previously sold here at RM838,800, the Touring commands a RM60,000 premium.

对比 218 GC Sportvs 218 GC Sport+RM19,000
相较目前限时优惠中的 218 Gran Coupé Sport(RM173,800 起,含四年 BSRI 为 RM185,800),M Sport 版本贵约 RM19,000。
M Sport
Launched the same day as the M2 CS and M3 Touring, the BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport is the accessible entry in the trio. The locally assembled four-door coupé costs RM192,800 with the standard two-year warranty, or RM204,800 with the four-year BSRI service package — both on-the-road without insurance.
Against the 218 Gran Coupé Sport currently on limited offer from RM173,800 (RM185,800 with four-year BSRI), the M Sport carries roughly a RM19,000 premium. Viewed differently, though, it undercuts the original June 2025 launch price of the Sport trim — RM241,000 with the five-year BSRI package — by RM36,200, while offering more equipment.
What M Sport adds
Visually, the car gains a blacked-out Iconic Glow kidney grille that illuminates at night, gloss black window surrounds, and a more aggressive M Sport body kit with larger front air intakes and a diffuser-inspired rear bumper.
The substantive upgrades are adaptive dampers and a Harman Kardon sound system. BMW Malaysia notes the RM204,800 BSRI price applies only to the first 50 customers; pricing thereafter has not been announced.
After debuting and opening order books at April's Penang Autoshow, then appearing in Malaysian specification at KLIMS in June, the Jetour T1 was officially launched on 22 July. It is the urban-flavoured take on the T2 — same square headlights and prominent JETOUR tailgate wordmark, but with smoother body lines and considerably less rugged posturing.
The pricing was the real surprise. Estimates had been RM143,800 for the 1.5L 2WD and RM153,800 for the 2.0L XWD; final figures came in at RM129,800 and RM146,800 — between RM7,000 and RM14,000 lower. For reference, the more rugged T2 sits at RM156,800. Both variants are assembled locally at Berjaya Assembly in Johor.
Two powertrains, clearly separated
The entry 1.5L TGDi 2WD uses a 1.5-litre turbo four making 170 PS and 270 Nm through a seven-speed dual-clutch to the front wheels, rated at 6.8 l/100 km with three drive modes. The 2.0L TGDi XWD steps up to a 2.0-litre turbo with 245 PS and 375 Nm, the same 7DCT but all-wheel drive, 7.6 l/100 km, and seven drive modes — four of them (Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock) aimed at unpaved surfaces. It also adds crawl control and a 600 mm wading depth.
Equipment split
The 1.5L rides on 18-inch wheels with 235/65R18 tyres and gets a 12.8-inch touchscreen, eight speakers, leatherette seats, a powered tailgate and a panoramic view camera. The 2.0L upgrades to 19-inch wheels on 235/60R19 rubber, a 15.6-inch display, a nine-speaker Sony system, a panoramic sunroof and a powered front passenger seat with leg rest.
Both variants carry six airbags and Level 2 ADAS, and the T1 scored five stars in ASEAN NCAP testing with 87.67 points. Four colours are offered: Khaki White, Aviation Silver, Sand Gold and Carbon Black. Coverage is seven years or 150,000 km on the vehicle and ten years or one million km on the powertrain, with five free services. The first 2,000 registered customers get an RM2,000 rebate and financing from 1.68 per cent.
Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford expanded the Ranger line-up on 23 July with four new turbodiesel variants: the flagship Platinum 3.0 (RM205,888), Sport 3.0 (RM159,888), Sport 2.0 (RM145,888), and the XL 2.0 (RM127,888), which is technically a re-launch. The Ranger range in Malaysia now runs to more than a dozen versions — among the widest in the pick-up segment.
Ford also used the occasion to note that more than 24,000 Next-Gen Rangers have been delivered locally since the model's 2022 introduction.
An engine line-up in transition
The Platinum 3.0 and Sport 3.0 use the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel making 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm, with a 10-speed automatic, full-time four-wheel drive and the stubby e-shifter. The Sport 2.0 and XL 2.0 run the 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel with 170 PS and 405 Nm, a 10-speed auto and part-time 4WD — the 10-speed being a significant upgrade for the XL, which previously used a six-speed.
Worth noting: the 2.0-litre engine was quietly updated for 2026. Outputs are unchanged, but it now uses a timing chain in place of the wet belt, with new fuel injectors. Meanwhile the older 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel has been discontinued globally; Malaysian variants still using it — the Raptor 2.0 included — remain on sale only until stock runs out.
Three distinct characters
Platinum plays the luxury card with a unique grille, 20-inch alloys, quilted leather-accented seats heated and ventilated up front, Platinum embossing and a Bang & Olufsen eight-speaker system. Colours are Acacia Green, Meteor Grey and Absolute Black.
The Sport pair aims at lifestyle buyers: an aggressive grille with black accents, 18-inch alloys on 255/65 tyres, black door handles and mirror caps, LED reflector headlamps with LED fog lights and C-clamp daytime running lights. The XL is unapologetically a workhorse — 12-inch touchscreen, eight-inch TFT cluster, fabric seats, four speakers, heavy-duty steel wheels and six airbags.
Common across the range: up to 1,000 kg payload, 3,500 kg towing, 800 mm wading depth and six drive modes, backed by a five-year or 160,000 km warranty.
BYD Sime Motors introduced the 2026 Sealion 7 on 30 July. Visually almost nothing has changed; the substance is all in the technology and the range structure. Alongside the existing Premium (RWD) and Performance (AWD), a new entry-level Dynamic variant lowers the D-segment electric SUV's entry price by RM25,000.
Since going on sale in late 2024, more than 6,300 Sealion 7s have been delivered in Malaysia — BYD says one in every five of its local owners drives one.
The new entry point
The Dynamic costs RM163,800, with the first 300 bookings able to take a special RM159,800 price by forgoing the complimentary wallbox. It pairs a 71.8 kWh Blade battery with a single rear motor producing 170 kW and 380 Nm, for 7.3 seconds to 100 km/h and 520 km of NEDC range. It retains a 400-volt architecture, with 7 kW AC and 110 kW DC charging.
Real upgrades higher up
Premium and Performance move from an 82.56 kWh battery to 91.39 kWh, and from 400 volts to 800. The Premium keeps its 230 kW and 380 Nm output and 6.9-second sprint, but NEDC range climbs from 567 km to 650 km. The Performance stays at 390 kW and 690 Nm with all-wheel drive, 4.5 seconds to 100 km/h and 600 km of range.
DC fast charging rises from 150 kW to 230 kW, cutting a 10 to 80 per cent top-up from 32 minutes to around 24, while AC charging goes to 11 kW. It should be said, though, that Premium and Performance now cost RM5,000 and RM4,000 more respectively than at their 2024 launch.
Equipment and coverage
The cabin keeps its 15.6-inch central display and digital cluster, with ventilated front seats across the range; Premium and Performance add four-way lumbar support and a powered leg rest. Safety kit runs to nine airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and a full ADAS suite.
Colours are Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey and Cosmos Black, plus Ultraviolet exclusive to the Premium. Warranty is six years or 150,000 km on the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 km on both the Blade battery and drive unit, with a V2L adapter and Type 2 charging cable included.
Nearly a year after its global debut, BMW has brought its newest electric SUV to Malaysia. As the first production model on the Neue Klasse platform, the iX3 arrives having just taken both World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle of the Year for 2026.
The new NA5-generation car comes in standard-wheelbase form rather than the long-wheelbase version many expected, imported from BMW's Debrecen plant in Hungary. Malaysia gets a single range-topping 50 xDrive M Sport Pro specification.
800 volts, and nearly double the range
The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 345 kW (469 PS) and 645 Nm for a 4.9-second sprint to 100 km/h. Sixth-generation eDrive technology and an 800-volt architecture allow a 108.7 kWh battery and up to 805 km of WLTP range — on paper ahead of the Tesla Model Y and the similarly priced Zeekr 7X. DC charging peaks at 400 kW, taking the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in roughly 21 minutes.
A clean break in design
The exterior adopts BMW's pared-back new design language, with slim illuminated kidney grilles nodding to the 1962 BMW 1500 and none of the iX era's visual excess. The cabin's centrepiece is BMW Panoramic Vision, a display band running the full width of the windscreen base, paired with a 17.9-inch central screen running the new Panoramic iDrive system and a 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio setup. Boot space is 520 litres, with a 58-litre frunk.
Zeekr Malaysia has introduced the 7X Black Nova, a special edition limited to 200 units at RM235,000 — just RM4,200 above the AWD Performance variant it is based on.
As the name suggests, the theme is comprehensive blacking-out: body, 20-inch alloys and exterior trim all in black, with a black-and-grey interior. Mechanically it is identical to the AWD Performance, with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system making 646 PS (475 kW) and 710 Nm for a 3.8-second sprint to 100 km/h.
A 100 kWh NMC battery gives 543 km of WLTP range, and the 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 420 kW — 10 to 80 per cent in about 16 minutes, among the quickest of anything on sale in Malaysia.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched the all-electric CLA250+ on 14 August at RM274,888, imported from Germany, with Manufaktur paint available for around RM6,000 more.
The new CLA (C174) rides on the new MMA platform and marks the start of electrification for Mercedes' entry line-up. A single rear motor produces 272 PS (200 kW) and 335 Nm, notable for being paired with a two-speed gearbox — unusual in an EV, and intended to balance off-the-line response against high-speed efficiency.
Engineered around efficiency
An 85 kWh NMC battery combined with a remarkably slippery 0.21 drag coefficient yields 673 to 792 km of WLTP range depending on specification. The 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 325 kW, covering 10 to 80 per cent in about 22 minutes.
Inside is the MBUX Superscreen, combining a 10.25-inch instrument display with 14-inch central and passenger screens. Storage runs to a 405-litre boot plus a 101-litre frunk.
Marking Malaysia's 69th Merdeka, Jetour Malaysia released the T2 Dark Warrior Limited Edition — 69 units nationwide at RM167,600. That is RM10,800 above the standard T2 at RM156,800, the difference representing the Dark Warrior package itself.
Mechanically it is unchanged: a 2.0-litre turbo making 245 PS (180 kW) and 375 Nm through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch and all-wheel drive. The difference is entirely cosmetic — a matte black finish, and only that finish, which suits the T2's boxy, upright proportions rather well.
Aftersales follows Jetour's usual long-coverage approach: seven years or 150,000 km on the vehicle, and ten years or one million km on the powertrain.
Following its local preview in June, Porsche Malaysia distributor Sime Darby Auto Performance has officially priced and launched the all-electric Cayenne. It is the brand's third series-production EV after the Taycan and Macan Electric, and marks the first time the Cayenne line runs petrol and electric in parallel — the locally assembled (CKD) petrol and S E-Hybrid models remain on sale from RM609,000, while the electric car is fully imported in six variants: Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, each in standard and Coupé body styles. Nett prices are RM699,000 for the base Cayenne and RM749,000 for its Coupé; RM759,000 and RM805,000 for the S; and RM969,999 and RM999,999 for the Turbo. The car rides on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) co-developed with Audi, made its world debut in November 2025, and has reached Malaysia in under a year.
All six variants use dual-motor all-wheel drive. The base Cayenne makes 408 PS (442 PS with launch control) and 835 Nm for 4.8 seconds to 100 km/h and a 230 km/h top speed; the Cayenne S makes 544 PS (666 PS on launch control) and 1,080 Nm for 3.8 seconds and 250 km/h; the Turbo delivers 857 PS (1,156 PS on launch control) and 1,500 Nm, hitting 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds, and topping out at 260 km/h. All share a 113 kWh NMC battery on an 800-volt architecture, with WLTP range spanning 624 to 669 km (the slipperier Coupé actually goes further). DC fast charging peaks at 390 kW — up to 400 kW in ideal conditions — for a 10-80% top-up in under 16 minutes, while AC charging is 11 kW as standard (22 kW optional), with an ex-factory 11 kW wireless charging system also available. The body measures 4,985 x 1,980 x 1,674 mm (1,650 mm for the Coupé) on a 3,023 mm wheelbase, a 128 mm stretch over the petrol car, with a drag coefficient of 0.25 (0.23 for the Coupé) and a kerb weight of around 2.6 tonnes. Air suspension with PASM adaptive dampers is standard across the range, with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, rear-axle steering of up to five degrees, carbon-ceramic brakes and Porsche Active Ride on the options list; regenerative braking is rated at up to 600 kW. Inside there is a 14.25-inch curved OLED instrument display, the bent Flow Display touchscreen, an optional 14.9-inch passenger screen, an augmented-reality head-up display with an effective 87-inch image, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — while physical climate and volume controls are retained. Boot space is 781 litres (584 litres for the Coupé) plus a 90-litre frunk, with 245 mm of ground clearance and a 550 mm wading depth when raised.
For the Merdeka season, BYD Malaysia has added a new paint option to the Atto 3 Premium called Gemilang Blue — in fact the same Iris Blue signature shade worn by the European Atto 3 Evo, renamed locally in a nod to the Malaysian flag, the Jalur Gemilang. The colour is exclusive to the rear-wheel-drive Premium and is not a limited edition; it stays in the range after the promotion ends. The bigger news is the price: the Premium now carries a Merdeka special of RM124,800, RM14,000 below its RM138,800 list price — a discount that happens to match the value of the launch package offered when the facelift arrived in June, effectively folding that package straight into the sticker. Reports suggest the front-wheel-drive Ultra is currently being offered with a similar level of savings.
Mechanically nothing changes from the June facelift launch: the Premium takes Europe's Evo specification with a rear-mounted motor making 230 kW (313 PS) and 380 Nm, good for 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a 180 km/h top speed. The battery is a 74.88 kWh Blade LFP pack rated at 510 km WLTP, and the 800-volt architecture supports 220 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in around 25 minutes) and 11 kW AC charging (a full charge in roughly eight hours). Suspension is double-ball-joint MacPherson struts up front with a five-link rear, and the warranty remains six years/150,000 km on the vehicle plus eight years/160,000 km on the battery and drive unit. At RM124,800 the rear-drive Atto 3 lands close to what the front-drive Ultra normally costs, making it the sharpest value shift of this Merdeka promotion.
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has added an automatic variant to the entry-level Triton Single Cab workhorse, priced at RM107,980 on-the-road excluding insurance for private registration in Peninsular Malaysia — a RM3,000 premium over the existing manual. It is the first time this fleet-, construction- and plantation-focused model has been offered with a self-shifter, a practical addition for operators whose drivers spend the day in stop-start traffic. A limited-period RM4,000 diesel support incentive accompanies the launch, the sole colour is Solid White, and the warranty runs five years/200,000 km.
Power still comes from the 2.4-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder with 184 PS and 430 Nm, and the new six-speed automatic uses the same ratios as the manual. Drive goes through Easy Select part-time four-wheel drive with 2H, 4H and 4L modes, and a rear differential lock is standard — not a given at this end of the pick-up market. Payload is rated at 1,145 kg, the bed measures 2,340 x 1,580 x 515 mm, and the tyres are 265/65 all-terrains on 17-inch steel wheels. Equipment-wise the automatic adds reverse parking sensors as its one exclusive item; everything else matches the manual, including a bedliner, black rear bumper, black vinyl seats, auto lights and wipers, black door handles, and three airbags including one for the driver's knees.
Honda Malaysia has given the three-year-old WR-V its first update, trimming the range from four variants to three — the entry S is gone, leaving E, V and RS at RM94,900, RM98,900 and RM104,900 respectively (on-the-road without insurance). Notably, all three sit RM1,000 to RM3,000 below the equivalent variants at the July 2023 launch, a rare move downwards in a year when prices have generally gone the other way. The WR-V has racked up more than 24,000 sales in Malaysia since its debut, making it a dependable volume model for Honda here.
The powertrain carries over: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated DOHC i-VTEC four making 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm, driving the front wheels through a CVT for 0-100 km/h in 11 to 11.2 seconds and a 160 km/h top speed. The changes are concentrated in the cabin, where the 7-inch head unit gives way to a 10-inch Display Audio system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay across the range; the RS adds a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad, red ambient lighting and an all-black grille, while every variant now wears 17-inch black alloys on 215/55R17 tyres. Inside there are Dark Steel dashboard accents, with full leather upholstery on the V and RS (blue contrast stitching on the V, red on the RS), manual air-con on the E and single-zone automatic climate control on the V and RS. Honda Sensing is standard across the board, covering forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam and lead car departure notification, alongside LaneWatch on the passenger side, four to six airbags depending on variant, plus VSA, ABS, EBD and hill start assist. Blazing Red Pearl is a new colour replacing Ignite Red Metallic, the RS gains a red-with-black-roof two-tone option, and Crystal Black Pearl has been dropped. Warranty is five years with unlimited mileage, along with five free-labour services within five years or 100,000 km.
Jaecoo Malaysia has added an electric version of the J5, which launched here in April, at a single-variant price of RM118,800 on-the-road without insurance — RM10,000 more than the RM108,000 petrol car. Like the petrol J5, it is locally assembled (CKD) at Chery Corporate Malaysia's Shah Alam plant. The first 1,000 buyers, up to October 31, get a launch package worth around RM10,000: a year of unlimited free charging via JomCharge, a year of free insurance, three years of free data, a 7 kW home charger, a V2L cable, and an accessories bundle including a karaoke set, subwoofer, flashlight and pet carrier. Visually the EV swaps the petrol car's large waterfall grille for a closed-off panel with an active shutter.
A single front-mounted motor produces 155 kW (211 PS) and 288 Nm, good for 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and a 175 km/h top speed. The battery is a 58.9 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate pack rated at 402 km WLTP and 461 km NEDC — larger than Thailand's 50.6 kWh unit but smaller than Indonesia's 60.9 kWh. DC fast charging peaks at 130 kW for a 30-80% top-up in 28 minutes, AC charging is 11 kW for 10-100% in around seven hours, and there is 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load output. The body measures 4,380 x 1,860 mm on a 2,620 mm wheelbase with 174 mm of ground clearance, and the boot holds 480 litres (1,284 litres with the rear seats folded) plus a 35-litre frunk; there is no spare tyre. Equipment includes an 8.88-inch digital cluster, a 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen, ventilated powered front seats, a 1.45 m panoramic glass roof with powered shade, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 50 W wireless charging pad, a 540-degree camera system, a powered tailgate, double-glazed front windows, heated mirrors with memory, plus in-car karaoke and dedicated Pet and Camping climate modes. Safety covers six airbags and Level 2+ ADAS with AEB, lane departure and keeping assist, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control. Wheels are 18-inch two-tone aero items on 235/55 Giti tyres, and the colours are Alpine Green, Fjord Grey and Carbon Crystal Black. Warranty is seven years/150,000 km on the vehicle and 10 years/200,000 km on the battery.
After June's GLA Nightfall and July's AMG GLC43 Nightfall, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has applied the same treatment to the plug-in hybrid GLC350e 4Matic Coupé. The Nightfall Edition is priced at RM442,888 on-the-road without insurance, a RM17,000 premium over the standard car's RM425,888. As with the previous two, this is a purely cosmetic package — the mechanicals are unchanged, and it remains locally assembled (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang.
The Night Package brings gloss black finishing for the Mercedes-Benz pattern grille, radiator louvres, beltline strips, window frames, mirror caps, rear apron and diffuser; dark chrome door handles; and black 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels. The powertrain pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (204 PS/320 Nm) with a 129 PS/440 Nm electric motor for a combined 313 PS and 550 Nm, sent through a nine-speed automatic and 4Matic all-wheel drive, with over 100 km of WLTP electric-only range. Equipment matches the standard car, including Digital Light headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, Artico synthetic leather upholstery, a 15-speaker Burmester system, seven airbags and the Driving Assistance Package Plus with stop-and-go adaptive cruise, lane centring and cross-traffic alert with automatic braking.
Volvo Car Malaysia has moved its flagship seven-seat electric SUV, the EX90, to local assembly (CKD), replacing the Chinese-built CBU version introduced in April 2025. The sole Twin Motor Performance variant is priced at RM428,888 on-the-road without insurance, RM14,000 below the outgoing CBU car, and the first 100 buyers also receive a RM25,000 cash rebate plus a Volvo wallbox worth RM3,990. Only the seven-seat 2-3-2 layout is offered for now, with a six-seat 2-2-2 configuration to follow.
The headline technical change is the switch from a 400-volt to an 800-volt electrical architecture. The dual motors — one per axle — produce 680 PS (500 kW) and 870 Nm, 40 Nm less than before, for 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a 180 km/h top speed. Battery capacity drops from 111 kWh gross/107 kWh usable to 106 kWh gross/103 kWh usable (NCM chemistry), nudging WLTP range down slightly to 617 km from 623 km — but charging improves markedly, with DC peak rising from 250 kW to 350 kW, a 10-80% top-up falling from 30 to 22 minutes, and 10 minutes on the plug now adding around 250 km of range instead of 180 km; AC charging stays at 11 kW for a 10-hour full charge. Compute comes from twin Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chips totalling 500 TOPS with over-the-air updates, though the CKD car drops the roof-mounted LiDAR. Inside there is a portrait 14.5-inch touchscreen with Google built in (Maps, Assistant and the Play Store, alongside Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility), a 9-inch driver display and a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system, plus a head-up display, Digital Key Plus using a card or tag rather than a fob, 21-inch eight-spoke aero wheels, active air suspension, four-zone climate control across all three rows, ventilated and massaging powered front seats, one-pedal drive, a powered tailgate and an electrochromic roof. Safety kit spans Pilot Assist, blind spot monitoring, AEB, intersection auto brake, lane keeping, rear cross traffic alert, a 360-degree camera and Park Pilot Assist, with dual front, side, inner side, curtain and driver's knee airbags, and ISOFIX points with an integrated booster cushion. Mulberry Red joins the palette, and the interior moves to two Nappa leather themes — Charcoal with Light Ash and Cardamom with Brown Ash — replacing the previous Nordico leather with Birch Wood. Warranty is five years unlimited mileage, with eight years/160,000 km on the battery.
Announced on the same day as the EX90, Volvo Car Malaysia's 2027 model-year update for the ES90 electric sedan keeps the price at RM339,888 on-the-road without insurance — unchanged from the previous model year. The changes are cosmetic and material: the interior moves from synthetic Nordico to Nappa leather in Charcoal or a new Cardamom shade with birch wood trim, while the wheels drop from 22 to 21 inches in a diamond-cut five-spoke design — and the smaller rims actually lift WLTP range by 11 km to 662 km. Mulberry Red and Aurora Silver join the colour palette while Denim Blue is dropped, and wireless Android Auto is now supported alongside the existing wireless Apple CarPlay.
Mechanically nothing changes. The sole Ultra Single Motor Extended Range variant uses a rear motor rated at 245 kW (333 PS) and 480 Nm for 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and an electronically limited 180 km/h top speed. The 92 kWh NCM battery takes up to 350 kW on DC for a 10-80% charge in 22 minutes, or 11 kW on AC for a full charge in ten hours, and the car remains locally assembled (CKD). Volvo is also offering cash rebates of up to RM17,600 plus the RM3,990 wallbox, for a total incentive value of RM21,590.
Strictly speaking this is not a launch but an industry announcement made jointly by Mazda and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA): the all-new third-generation CX-5 will be locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia with a 60% local content target. The car goes on sale first as a fully imported (CBU) model on October 8, with CKD production expected to begin in 12 to 16 months. Sixteen Malaysian automotive vendors have been engaged through the MIDA-Mazda Strategic Vendor Development programme, covering chassis and suspension, stamping, precision machining, plastic injection moulding, cockpit modules, seating systems and insulation components, alongside five memoranda of understanding signed between Malaysian and Japanese companies. No official pricing has been announced yet; estimates put the starting figure at around RM170,000.
The third-generation CX-5 measures 4,690 x 1,860 x 1,695 mm on a 2,815 mm wheelbase — 115 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 15 mm taller than the outgoing car. Power comes from a 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with a 24-volt mild-hybrid system, making 141 PS and 238 Nm through a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic driving the front wheels (no all-wheel-drive version has been mentioned). The biggest cabin change is the shift to a fully digital layout: a 12.9-inch or 15.6-inch touchscreen (the Malaysian display car had the 15.6-inch unit) running Android Automotive OS, plus a wireless charging pad — at the cost of Mazda's long-serving Commander rotary controller and most of the physical buttons. Full specifications and pricing will be revealed at the official launch on October 8.

Following its debut at the KLIMS motor show in December 2024, another preview at PACE in July 2025, and full specifications revealed in September, Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has officially unveiled its first MPV, the Wey G9. Locally assembled (CKD) at EP Manufacturing's (EPMB) Pegoh, Melaka plant, it's the country's first locally built Chinese new-energy MPV. The range comes in a single variant priced at RM269,800 on-the-road without insurance — well below the "under RM300,000" estimate given when the September preview and December order books opened.
The Malaysian model is the standard-wheelbase seven-seat (2-2-3 layout) version of China's "Gaoshan 7," measuring 5,050 x 1,985 x 1,900 mm on a 3,085 mm wheelbase — longer and wider than the Toyota Alphard/Vellfire, but shorter than Chinese siblings like the Zeekr 009, Xpeng X9 and Denza D9 (all over 5.2 metres). Power comes from GWM's latest Hi4 Performance dual-motor, four-speed dedicated hybrid transmission system: a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine making 150 PS and 240 Nm, paired with a 109 PS/170 Nm front motor and a 184 PS/232 Nm rear motor for a combined 442 PS and 642 Nm. At a kerb weight of 2,803 kg, it does 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds with a 190 km/h top speed. A 44.2 kWh NMC battery offers 145 km of WLTP EV range (170 km NEDC), and with a 58-litre fuel tank, total range reaches up to 850 km WLTP (around 1,000 km NEDC); DC fast charging tops out at 60 kW (30-80% in 26 minutes), with 6.6 kW AC charging taking 6.5 hours from 15-100%. The cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and 14.6-inch touchscreen (running Coffee OS 3, without the dual-screen layout seen in China), with second-row zero-gravity captain's chairs gaining physical adjustment buttons on the forward edge of the armrests, six-way adjustment with ventilation and 10-point massage, plus a 12.5-litre onboard fridge with an independent compressor that can run for up to 24 hours with the engine off. Dual front sunroofs, double-glazed acoustic glass and a HALOSonic active noise cancellation system keep cabin noise to a claimed 63.4 dB at 120 km/h. Safety includes six airbags (with full-length side curtains), a 360-degree camera and the full Level 2 driver-assist suite. Warranty covers six years unlimited-mileage on the vehicle plus eight years/180,000 km on the hybrid system, with standard five-year free connected data, five years of free maintenance and a complimentary home wallbox charger; the first 1,000 buyers also get a free rear-seat entertainment screen.
Two months after last November's announcement and the opening of order books, Alfa Romeo Malaysia has officially released pricing for the Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV, marking the Italian brand's return to the Malaysian market after more than a decade away (previously distributed by Sime Darby). Both cars are offered in a sole Veloce variant, fully imported (CBU) from Italy, priced nett (excluding on-the-road costs) at RM438,800 for the Giulia and RM478,800 for the Stelvio — on-the-road prices come to RM440,078 and RM480,128 respectively, notably higher than the RM400,000 estimate given at the November preview. Every purchase includes a five-year/150,000 km warranty. The brand also announced special duty-free pricing for Langkawi and Labuan, at RM228,800 for the Giulia and RM258,800 for the Stelvio — sneaking in just under the government's new RM300,000 duty-free threshold for 2026.
The Veloce trim — second only to the flagship Quadrifoglio — shares a 2.0-litre Multiair turbo four-cylinder petrol engine across both cars, making 280 PS (at 5,250 rpm) and 400 Nm (at 2,250 rpm), slightly more powerful than the BMW 330i (258 PS) and significantly ahead of the X3 20 xDrive (190 PS), though at roughly RM150,000 more. Both use a ZF eight-speed automatic, with the Giulia sending power to the rear wheels and the Stelvio getting Alfa's signature Q4 all-wheel-drive system; both come standard with a mechanical limited-slip differential and do 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, with the Giulia topping out at 240 km/h and the Stelvio at 230 km/h. The two cars share much of their equipment, including the brand's signature telephone-dial alloy wheels (19-inch on the Giulia, 20-inch on the Stelvio), triple-ring LED head- and taillights, sport leather seats, a 12.3-inch hooded digital instrument display, an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi wireless charging, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features including adaptive cruise control and lane centring assist. Alfa Romeo Malaysia also announced the opening of its flagship showroom, Casa Alfa Romeo, at Rhapsody Square in Kuala Lumpur's TREC district, with outlets in Penang and Johor Bahru in the works.
BMW Malaysia has added a long-wheelbase variant to its entry electric SUV line-up — the iX1 eDrive20L M Sport, or iX1 L — launched with an estimated price of RM255,000 (excluding the BSRI five-year warranty and service package), pending official announcement of new tariff and excise duty rates for Chinese-imported electric vehicles. The U12-generation iX1 L is fully imported (CBU) from China, whereas the standard-wheelbase U11 comes from Regensburg, Germany; the petrol X1 has been locally assembled (CKD) since 2010. The long-wheelbase model stretches the wheelbase by 110 mm to 2,802 mm and overall length by 116 mm to 4,616 mm, which BMW says translates to 81 mm more legroom and 107 mm more knee room — following the 330Li and China's X3, long-wheelbase models continue to expand within BMW Malaysia's line-up. (The car's official price was ultimately confirmed in April at RM252,800, just RM2,200 below the launch estimate and around RM2,000-3,000 more than the standard-wheelbase eDrive20.)
Powertrain and battery specs carry over from the standard-wheelbase eDrive20: a front-mounted 204 PS/250 Nm motor and a 66.5 kWh gross (64.7 kWh net) battery, with 11 kW AC charging (0-100% in six hours 45 minutes) and 130 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in 32 minutes, adding around 120 km of range in just 10 minutes), doing 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. Top speed is 5 km/h higher than the standard-wheelbase car at 175 km/h, though WLTP range drops to 433 km (versus 475 km for the standard car, and even below the discontinued dual-motor xDrive30's 438 km); BMW cites new comfort-tuned suspension without mentioning "adaptive," suggesting the standard car's adaptive M suspension isn't fitted here. Exterior updates add a Shadowline gloss-black package (grille, rear diffuser, side skirts, mirrors, roof rails and M Lights Shadowline headlamps), with the 19-inch M twin-spoke 871M alloys carried over. Inside, the seats get softer foam and a 15 mm longer cushion base, paired with Perforated Veganza faux leather in Castanea red, with Driving Assistant Plus (adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, steering and lane control assist, and speed limit recognition) standard here versus an optional ConnectedDrive-store item on the standard-wheelbase car. A panoramic glass roof is new — even the discontinued xDrive30 didn't get one — while other kit, including the Curved Display combo (10.25-inch instrument panel plus 10.7-inch touchscreen), 12-speaker 205-watt Harman Kardon sound system, powered tailgate and Parking Assistant Plus camera system, carries over unchanged. Colours are Mineral White, Brooklyn Grey, Skyscraper Grey and Carbon Black.
